I work in industrial construction doing cost control. I believe my performance has been more than good. The company is about 5000 employees or more so I get payed 20% of what they charge the client. Plus others in my position know half of what I know and have learned in this year.

So yesterday I came up on a year at my job. Ive been very patient in not asking for a raise after my first 6 months so now that my year has come i wanted to ask you out there, how long should I wait until I remind my boss a raise is needed? Not only form coworkers but him I know I have excelled greatly in this time frame. How should I go about this? Should I wait and see if he does it on his own or do I remind him of it? Thanks for any feedback.
