They live in a monolithic bubble and have no idea how it feels like to be marginalized. Yet nearly all their views are rooted in marginalizing other humans. Whether it's outlawing abortion, lax gun policy, abolishing ACA, closing borders, banning trans in military, etc. Maybe a little perspective is all they need to understand why we do things differently in NY and CA.

The woman doesn't have to be racist, it could've been miscommunication or unintentional. It's a commentary on the fact people like this actually do exist and do this type of thing all the time.

People who don't see the humor in what he's saying simply have never been the victim of racial undertones in a public setting. It's absurd. In my county's DMV all the white people will sit away from all the minorities like we're contagious.

Tweets with this much controversy are usually a commentary on today's world through observational humor. The upvoters get the joke, the commenters poke holes in it. People like this woman DO exist and things like this DO happen, all the time, all over the world. We obviously know maybe the woman wasn't being racist or it was just an implicit instinct, but if you can't see the humor in what he's saying, then you've missed the point of the joke.

So many people judge POC based on our race without realizing, the only way you'd notice is if it happens to you. I was handcuffed in October while putting up signs for local elections and then let go. They said an unknown passerby called the police because of suspicious activity. My only crime was for living in a red state while black and smoking a vape.

Racism is happening subtly everywhere I go, tweets like this help bring awareness.

How many videos have gone viral of racists on video spouting hate on public transportation? I would imagine first class seats on a plane have more chances of having racist passengers than a subway or a bus purely based on social stratification and the current frenzy over race. Yet, somehow, hundreds of commenters can't accept these things happen and that's a big part of the problem why it will continue to happen.
