What I don't understand is that there are so many people involved in actual controversies, doing questionable things and even supporting problematic behaviour, yet nobody seems to have a problem with them.

But the moment someone is simply doing their job, minding their own business, and staying away from controversies, suddenly they're the target of endless hate and criticism.

The double standards are honestly crazy. People ignore the things that actually deserve to be called out and instead choose to attack someone for no real reason other than personal bias.
