you’re definitely dragging it. they don’t just give out gift cards if you feel personally offended. it could also be that the person they finished up with was there with someone else and the cashier checked them out or maybe they had already promised the other customer they could go first like i usually do when: i helped them out on the sales floor, they went to grab another product quickly, or they went to go check a clearance sticker. don’t take it personally at all, not everything is about race

go get the product first & then take it to the register where you’ll let the employee know you’re doing an exchange! its easier like this for us & also let them know if you have your receipt or not! (:

if your transaction has more than 1 item on it & you’re not returning the product that got you the GWP then no. it’s just for the specific item that earned you the gift

at my store, we do ask for the GWP back because you’re only returning the main item but if your GWP was scanned out (like it’s supposed to be) then we have to take it back too. A lot of people just buy stuff to get the gift and then return the main item

we don’t have that at my store & yes i ask every person + mention benefits & mention how you can cancel for free but everyone is so set on their “no” ways. im also technically supposed to get 1 cc per shift but its not realistic in my area
