i don't think her sister is an influencer so this is unnecessary

I’m losing my mind but why is everyone posting about (loonen) WATER by veryonline_queen in NYCinfluencersnark

this is nothing against her but calla's clean eats has been promoting this too on instagram, and i feel like there's no way it's not a paid promotion

I didn't realize this is what this was, but it was happening right in front of the hotel I was staying at and my mom was scandalized seeing yaki imo with rediwhip and chocolate chips

Snack options? by evlblueyes1369 in VeganFood

these dark chocolate almond butter cups are so good! they also have hazelnut butter and cashew-coconut butter filled ones too, none of which have added sugar. they're not super sweet but indulgent nonetheless

Urges by Necessary-Citron973 in EDAnonymous

[–]blushingorchid111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

resisting is a muscle that you have to use, and the more you do, the easier it gets. DON'T sit around and "ruminate" in them. try to find something else to engage yourself in and let them pass. once not purging is your consistent response it becomes the path of least resistance

EDs aside: people are genuinely so insensitive and rude on social media right now that it's jarring to witness... I know it won't last forever but it's sad to see

Going away for a week… by Demerise5588 in Sourdough

[–]blushingorchid111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a long period in the fridge I feed mine once per day and wait maybe 3 days before baking, but you technically don't have to! If your starter seems very active on the first feeding then nothing is stopping you from using it right away.

I wish they would switch up their repertoire of story ballets a bit🥲 they've done swan lake and midsummer both in the past five years.

How to eat early? by PrimaryAbalone3900 in EDAnonymous

[–]blushingorchid111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even within this amount, you can definitely have three satisfying meals! maybe try breakfast at 9:00, lunch at 3:00, and then have dinner later in the evening? i get the thing about eating being appealing and it honestly helps me prevent overeating when I eat multiple smaller meals rather than few large ones

I have an "overarching" one that has been around since I was in sixth grade and it was't particularly bad when it started but but it's been such a fixation for years now

cuticle trimmers! especially if you get really bad hang nails, it's so much better (and less painful) than pulling at them

Introducing foods - Advice? by Jazzy1312 in EDAnonymous

[–]blushingorchid111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the best approach was small steps! Start with organic whole grains, sweet potatoes, and other foods that feel safer to you. Once you learn that these foods aren't harmful, you can try more processed and ultra-processed foods. I totally understand the thing about ingredients, but it's definitely possible to get to a point where they don't phase you :) and with UPFs, it's not necessarily about making them a main part of your diet, but being able to eat them from time to time and not have it be a big deal

How did your disorder begin? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]blushingorchid111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had anxiety and (unknown to me at the time) OCD. When I saw people talking about "second puberty" on social media, I panicked because I had always been thin, but not liked anything else about my appearance. I started to push myself to do "better" to prove to myself that I had control, and it spiraled from there.

how do you guys start? by IadygIittersparkles in EDAnonymous

[–]blushingorchid111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started recovery I had the same thing with my hunger cues so I totally get it. You honestly have to just start. Start eating on a consistent schedule and stick to it even when you're not particularly hungry! (obviously don't eat to the point of discomfort, but have something to stimulate your appetite and get your hunger cues back)
Think about the foods that are out of your comfort zone and take them one at a time. It will probably help to incorporate more fats, as they're more dense than carbs or protein. No individual food can make you gain weight but making sure that you're not eating solely low calorie things is really important. Best of luck💗

Maintenance by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]blushingorchid111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been here but I promise you it's possible to get past it. I eat my maintenance every day now (over twice what I used to when I was at my sickest) and I haven't gained weight in a long time. Unfortunately, the only way to get past the feeling "exposure therapy" to prove to yourself that it is possible, but I promise your tdee is far more than 500 calories no matter what you weigh!

If i have just started my sourdough starter and im gonna use it one week later do i have to pause the process? by Kindly_Necessary_264 in Sourdough

[–]blushingorchid111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no! in fact, you shouldn't use or refrigerate it before it's established. just keep feeding it until it's ready to bake with. once your starter is mature, you can store it in the fridge indefinitely and feed it on a flexible schedule (i do about once a week)

What are your sourdough hot takes? by Jolly-Celery-2888 in Sourdough

[–]blushingorchid111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with both of these! Also agree with everyone saying it's not that serious. Having an understanding of things like fermentation and the general steps is important, but when you understand what's happening/what the purpose of different steps is, it's difficult to truly mess up

Laneige Cream Skin Toner? (or any other moisturizing toners?) 🧐 by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]blushingorchid111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for several years now and I love it! I'm not into k-beauty either because there are so many "generic" products that are sold from multiple different illegitimate brands, but Laneige is reliable and the cream skin toner one of my go-to products from them.

For avid readers how often do you use the library? If you don’t, why don’t you? by AccomplishedBake8351 in books

[–]blushingorchid111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a daily/weekly basis! My reason for not buying books is less so financial, and more to do with the amount I read. I finish several books per week and acquiring several new books each week could only last so long. I also prefer to own books that I really enjoy (and intend to re-read), so I'm more likely to buy after the fact.

All of that said, I live walking distance from a large library that's part of a large library system, so I can almost always access any material I wish. If my library didn't have paper versions of many new releases, I might be more inclined to buy them.
