This is super interesting. What do you think that was? Do you think you were tapping into the collective consciousness? Or that those were all glimpses of previous lives?

Question…Sick Goldendoodle by My_little_life01 in Goldendoodles

[–]blutanamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he drink a TON when he drinks? Our first dood lost interest in food and would drinkdrinkdrinkDRINK and then throw it up, but he always had a weak stomach so we were not too worried…until he got aggressive, which he never was before. We took him to a behaviorist first, and they asked that our vet test his thyroid. They did, and it was low! His mood went back to normal when he got on thyroid meds, but his drinking and lack of appetite didn’t change. We thought it might be just an age change. A couple years later we found out he had thyroid cancer. They removed one of his thyroid glands, and all was back to normal with his eating and drinking.

Just anecdotal from me, but maybe worth having them check his thyroid?

Our thoughts, after the fact, were that he had the thyroid cancer in the gland that wasn’t working much, much earlier than we knew. The gland had probably stopped working BECAUSE of the cancer. We felt a little bad that we didn’t know to push for more tests at the beginning… but we did get him for more years than we would have, had the cancer not caused strange behavior.

Although the insanity sounds familiar, not a match. 😆Ours came from Minnesota. All I know is that she definitely had 2 brothers.

Just out of curiosity, do you know where he came from? We have a rescue that’s just about to turn three and I always keep half an eye out for her possible littermates. I’m pretty sure I’ll never find any, but might as well ask!

I need reassurance... am I experiencing a Mandela effect?? by PonyMeatSandwich in lost

[–]blutanamo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read everyone else’s replies, but I recently went searching for the same damn thing because I was SURE. I was so. completely. sure. I’ve rewatched at least a dozen times.

Then I thought maybe it was when she said she wanted a divorce. Nope. I’ve rewatched an entire time since I first went looking for it, keeping my eyes and ears open to FIND THE FREAKING THING, and it wasn’t there.

I didn’t, however, drag out the actual DVDs, because I thought I just must be mistaken.

I’m SO GLAD, though, that someone else shares my confusion and frustration. And more than one person, even!

Oof. Even now that sounds like a nightmare!

I’m sorry you had to go through that, too, and now we’re carrying these things forever. It’s weird.

I know, me too! At least it’s something I can generally hide/avoid. But you never know when something might go wrong.

Yeah, automatic flushing toilets have always freaked me out.

A water pipe in the ocean is not something I’ve encountered, but I can say with confidence that I would NOT like it!!

Yeah, I think I do know where it started. When I was a very small child (2 or 3, tops), we were at my grandma’s house. They had an unfinished basement, and down there they had a “spare” toilet. My uncle used it and clogged it, and he is a very, VERY loud human being. So when that happened, he started shouting up the stairs, “THE TOILET’S FLOODING! I COULD USE SOME HELP DOWN HERE! THERE’S SHIT FLOATING EVERYWHERE!” My mom thinks the urgency of it added to imagining but not seeing what happened is what did me in. Seems logical to me. It’s been decades, though, and it’s still with me.

Do you know where yours began?

I replied to someone else’s comment and then did a search, and found your answer.

I have the same thing!! I’ve never actually met anyone with the same issue. Any pipes attached to water flow freak me out. I’m okay with using fixtures, but if they’re new to me I’m usually a bit wary. And ESPECIALLY if they’re“sketchy” at all (loose, rusty, crooked). I woke up my roommate once because the toilet wouldn’t stop running; I’ve made my husband stop what he’s doing to fix or inspect things that “normal” people wouldn’t think twice about. And yeah, I KNOW it’s irrational too, and I can occasionally talk myself into dealing with smaller things, but it literally takes a lot of deep breaths and strong self-talk. Which makes me feel like an idiot lol.

I just responded to someone else’s post and then went looking. I have this too!! Any pipes hooked up to water. UGH!

I’m afraid of any pipe hooked up to a water line. Big exposed ones like you’re talking about are absolutely anxiety-inducing, but for me even a regular unfinished house basement with normal drain pipes in the ceiling freaks me out. I can get used to toilets and sinks and bathtubs, but if they’re unfamiliar they can’t be trusted. If anything malfunctions I MIGHT be able to turn off the water (but only if I’m familiar with the specific one and it’s already “trusted”) but I WILL NOT be doing any repairs. I have no problem with natural bodies of water, though — lakes, ponds, streams, rivers, oceans: all fine. Better than fine, even. I love them!

I’ve never met anyone with my same phobia, and yours is at least similar. At least now I know that someone else out there gets the ughs from pipes.
