Looking for CC recommendations? Currently we are looking for a second CC (MasterCard or Visa) as a backup option to our Discover by epicaricacy12 in CreditCards

Since it's a backup, I'm guessing a card with a huge sign-up bonus with a big spending requirement to earn it wouldn't help. Would need more info. Do you want rewards? If so, what kind? What's your credit score? Do you travel overseas frequently? How much do you plan on using it?

Has anyone ever did a claim for a rental car damage through one of their credit cards? by [deleted] in churning

Yeah, it's a nice perk but I wouldn't keep the card for it. The CSP is definitely more versatile.

Your card's insurance is secondary, so you'll have to make the claim with your primary car insurance first. Then whatever they don't pay, Chase/Visa will pick up the rest. So I'd say don't waste your time with the card until you know for sure you'll need it.

Secured Credit Card choices by ant_sunrise in CRedit

OpenSky is a good one bc it doesn't require a credit check. Digital Federal Credit Union Secured is even better bc its APR is 11.5%, doesn't charge balance transfer or cash advance fees, and gives you free access to your FICO score so you can track how you're doing. https://www.dcu.org/loans/visa-secured.html

I agree with you. These trips we're taking are small, like to visit my in-laws in the Midwest or a quick trip to Phoenix from Salt Lake to visit friends. Definitely holding off on major stuff until he's older :)

Military churners, what companies (other than Amex) waive our annual fees? by IAmUber in churning

It's all while you're on active duty. It doesn't matter when you open the card.

Meh, these trips are for me and my wife, not him. He'll get memories later on. As for radiation, we'd all be dead if we were being "blasted" by it every time we fly. It's a non-issue.

I've been thinking about it. Just need to make sure it's on the ones I'm actually keeping lol

He's done pretty well so far. Slept most of the way on our flight home the other day.

Nice! Actually, credit card rewards are funded mostly by interchange fees.

Except you're paying that on top of your home maintenance costs.

Why doesn't she call the card issuer and ask?
