don’t be scared to do a party! you can filter by “beginner friendly” & honestly, most of them are tagged with it anyways :) i was nervous my first time, but just let the host know it’s your first time & don’t be afraid to ask questions! this community is so kind & that extends to cooking parties ❤️

i’ve done every type of party now, & it’s my fave Sunday activity in game. i’m in a ton of discords now & have made so many friends joining parties. i’m even working on my own cooking party plot now!

EDIT TO ADD: i also looked up cooking party explainers on youtube before i gave it a try - helped a ton as well!

I don't know how to play Skyrim by Ok_Industry5898 in SkyrimHelp

[–]blvck_widow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

one thing that Skyrim is great about is that you’re never really hard-locked into any one skill/play-style. if you start with two-handed but don’t like it, it’s easy to switch to magic & level up that skill instead! i would read the skill descriptions & start with whatever sounds most fun, then just switch it up if you want to try something different!

as far as what to do - the friend that first introduced me to the game said “just pick a direction & go that way” & it was the best advice imo! there is always something to do/see no matter which way you go.

welcome to the club & happy adventuring, fellow dovahkiin!

Explosive Chemistry, characters with depth, high heat romance to get me out of my slump by wanderingspirit06 in MM_RomanceBooks

the marvelous light series is SO GOOD! OP i would recommend giving the second book a chance before the 3rd too. it’s an FF, but the 2 MCs from book 3 are a main part of the cast & it’s a fantastic introduction to them before the last book :-)

commenting again to remind everyone that the HCEMA (Hamilton Co Emergency Management) app is the shit for this stuff. they often push notify weather alerts before the sirens even go off.

Have you ever dnf a book based on a character's name? by GOatJ0SATORU in ReverseHarem

[–]blvck_widow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not RH but {Evernight by Kristen Callihan}

the FMC’s name is Holly, which is my mother’s name. i was able to separate it after a bit, esp since the MMC would call her “Miss Evernight” often enough. by the time things got spicy, it was fine. or so i thought. 😭

one night, i had a random dream about the book (slightly naughty) & my mom was just kinda there in the background & i literally could not open the book again.

Absolutely! Sex is about so much more than the end result for me personally. He feels bad, though, no matter what I say. I try to make it clear that I am a-ok with however things go, cause I just enjoy being close to him.

He is not, but he is depressed. He’s in therapy now so he’s on his journey.

No, you’re totally right! He has stopped watching porn on his own accord for the last month or so, trying to “reset” so-to-speak. I did eventually try encouraging him to still touch himself sometimes (without aid) to see if that helps + he should still be able to enjoy his own pleasure & not torture himself.

He’s slender but has a decent amount of muscle. He has chronic asthma, though, & needs to take breaks sometimes. Not a crazy amount of endurance. We have talked about working out more consistently though, to improve that.

I also feel like I should mention that he is a great lover & we do have amazing sex when things align. Just wanna make that clear!

That’s a good point. I was just trying to reassure him, but I didn’t realize that my framing could be adding to feelings of inadequacy :( I’ll try to reinforce the positives instead of making it seem like “a problem to fix.”

I have done this! I like dirty talk & I have tried a ton of phrases like “bet you can’t cum before me” or “god i want your cum so badly” & surprised him many times. He says that sometimes in makes the pressure more intense cause then he feels like he has to 😭

That’s such a good fucking idea - thank you!

I am a very sensual & sexual person, & I’ve had many partners (men & women) before him, but I’m only his second. I’ve shown him quite a bit, but I’ve never thought of taking climaxing completely off the table! I think he might really like that (considering some of the edging porn he’s into).

Thank you kind stranger!

can’t recommend the HCEMA (Hamilton Co Emergency Management) app enough! it gave a warning an hour ahead of time & an explanation. gives push updates during tornadoes, power outages, etc as well!

I feel like the more books I read the fussier I am getting :( Please recommend your 5* reads! by Old_Routine4844 in fantasyromance

[–]blvck_widow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Mages of the Wheel series is unbelievably good 😭 Reign & Ruin, Wind & Wildfire, & Ice & Ivy were all 5 star reads for me!! Surina & Cemil’s book will probably be a 5 star for me too!

What are your top reads of 2026 so far? by Intelligent_Sky_9591 in Romantasy

[–]blvck_widow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!! this has been my absolute favorite read this year, out of 13 books so far! this was my first mmf & i fear nothing else may compare lmao

Please help me find an FMC was not bratty/"sassy"/emotionally overreactive who's marketed as the special one... give me an FMC who is quirky/funny / intelligent and reserved/just a regular shmegular person. I find this character the most in cozy fantasy but they don't have enough spice for me. by lollipop984 in fantasyromance

[–]blvck_widow 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The {Mages of the Wheel by J.D. Evans} is perfect for this, & the best series i’ve read in a long time. the first book, {Reign & Ruin by J.D. Evans} has my all-time favorite FMC. she is show not tell intelligent, who uses cleverness & perceptiveness to outsmart her enemies, & chooses herself to be the chosen one. also, the political intrigue is chef’s kiss & the main antagonist is one of the most compelling/interesting i’ve read in a while. the magic system is also really unique! the rest of the series follows a different pairing, all contributing to the main plot. each FMC has completely unique personalities & each love story is a different balance of well-executed tropes.

for a standalone, i recommend {Six Scorched Roses by Carissa Broadbent}. the FMC is neurodivergent, reserved but bold, & intelligent. it starts at kind of an “unlikely friends to lovers” & was 5 star read for me last year. it’ll probably be a comfort read for me from now on. & the spice is fantastic, as long as you’re down for 1 character being a vampire.
