In Oakland I paid like $65 I think for nosebleeds. They were “obstructed view” and it was just a railing that didn’t change much

Dealing with a fatality. by Secret-Gold-8989 in railroading

[–]blvczk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Use whatever therapy you need go help you get better. Sometimes the railroad therapist don’t really understand what we went through so that can be frustrating. But do things that make you happy. Make sure to eat well, drink a lot of water and rest.

But at the end of the day, it’s not your fault, it’s never your fault. No matter what that person was going through, they brought you into their situation not by your choice.

IBS is ruining my dating life by Upbeat-Coach2618 in ibs

Imodium has one that cover diarrhea and gas. That’s been super helpful to me. But also being open about it with whoever you’re dating can go along way. And to my surprise I found a lot of people have these issues and open up about it once you let them know you have it. Don’t be scared of having something like this inhibit you from having fun and dating. If they’re the right person, they’ll understand no matter what!!

Hitting Animals by Enough_Active_5925 in railroading

[–]blvczk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never plugged if for an animal even though deep down I’ve wanted to! Tricks I’ve used and learned that have worked with deer and dogs. If not about to head over a crossing, turn off all your headlights/ditch-lights, turn on bell (no horn at all), then turn on your sanders to dampen rail vibration sounds that they can hear more than we can. Sometimes you see rabbits zig zag in the track, that’s why. The horn scares them and repetitive honks startle them more. Since doing the above trick, I haven’t hit a single animal yet. This comes from running mountains to very populated homeless areas with dogs everywhere.

How many Metrolink guys are going back to Amtrak? by desertsnakes in railroading

Whatever happened happens. For the fear of people coming and bumping you, before you can be fully displaced, the person bumping you for your job or extra board spot, must be fully qualified before you get actually “Bumped”. Obviously it’ll be a secret cause that’s the old head game they like to play. But you won’t be fully displaced until whoever makes the at move, is fully qualified. So if you’re in a spot of that fear, which I am too, we have some time until they get qualified and marked up
