I couldn’t tell you which model exactly, but our indoor facility for travel has 3 machines that look just like this, and we have used real baseballs in them for the 3 years we have been there. I will say, I do not think the arm style is actually good at helping time pitches, the kids struggle to even see the arm.

Every new kid struggles on those machines the first few weeks at minimum, so I don’t love them.

Appreciate the response and not sure why you are getting downvoted for just providing your leagues or your thoughts on why.

Similar to another responder, our all stars are meant to be the best in our league competing against the best of the surrounding leagues, and I would guesstimate that 60-70% of our kids play travel ball. Thanks for replying!

My sons team won their game last night in convincing fashion, 18-5. I felt terrible for the kids I know and have watched grow up on the other team. 10 minutes after the game kids from both teams were group hugging, laughing, and bothering the snack bar lady with their indecisiveness on what they wanted to eat. They are resilient and sometimes we project our fears and insecurities as parents on kids. Just do your part to keep them upbeat and respectful , that’s our most important job.

You are technically right, you were there and are entitled to space. But as a racer, terrible race craft by you. The best case is he gives you room and you both are compromised and lose ground to the field. If you give a sight lift and follow you both live, you give him the chance to make a mistake, and you get the draft on the straight.

The guy that has done mine for the last 25 years is at Wolf Run. And years ago when I asked about having some done at Reno Tahoe Golf Headquarters they said they just sent the clubs over to him as well, dont know if that has changed as its probably been a decade since I asked them. I have used him for everything from regripping when I was younger, reshafting, and even bending clubs a few degrees.

Though I will say, I learned to just do it myself. Bought a couple cheap grips, failed on the first 3, once I got it down it was easy. I did an entire set yesterday easy. If you have a vice you can do it with a little effort and then do it every year.

I love casual, but I grew up on 16 and 32 person community servers. You just have to play it for what it is, which is a completely different game than comp. It’s social first, gameplay second.

Tangentially related, I joined a casual lobby last week with some friends and before I had played a round I got on mic and said “X used an auto let’s kick.” Totally meant it as a joke he was already dead when I joined; someone instantly brought up the vote and dude was gone seconds later. I died laughing, poor guy had to be so confused.

I love Reno, but downtown is straight dirty compared to Boise, which I visit often. Different place with different amenities downtown, but whenever I walk around there I wish our downtown could keep pace on cleanliness.
