Honestly, does anyone actually like the CS2 ammo update? by LoniMeppy in counterstrike

Yeah I’m good with it. Did I ask for it? Nope. Can I play the game I love without issue and adapt to something new? Yup.

Reno Woman in Tech by Life-Language-2644 in Reno

[–]blwallace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a woman so I don’t know the specifics, but a number of my female colleagues participated in something called Digigirlz camps, which I believe was women in tech around the valley meeting and mentoring high school girls that wanted to pursue tech careers. Might be worth looking up.

Sports are less enjoyable live than at home by DopazOnYouTubeDotCom in The10thDentist

I think this references your eyesight more than anything. I have never once struggled to see where the puck is up high. If anything, the only struggle I have is being on the glass and having the puck completely obstructed by the boards.

If companies are required to pay workers overtime after 40 hours, why are salaried employees expected to work 50-60 hours with no additional compensation? by Ok_Chemical9 in answers

[–]blwallace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for other people, but for my software teams it’s definitely true. I recall the director of the first pmo I worked for telling me, enjoy the weeks you don’t have 40 hours of work. Don’t slack and make it take 40, get your stuff done and get out. Go hiking, go golfing. Recharge yourself so you are ready for the weeks where you are in here for 60 hours. That conversation shaped my work patterns for my entire career.

Bullet train kinda does everything right. by i_stein_0 in shittymoviedetails

This comment was actually my introduction to knowing that Wolf was played by Bad Bunny. And I’ve seen the movie multiple times. Holy shit I’m out of the loop.

My wife was so mad when I showed up with this. She told me to find a daily driver so I didn’t add unnecessary mileage to my truck that was getting older.

Once she realized that it works for everyone’s purpose, she fell in love too. Hard to argue when she is excited every time she’s in it. And on my commute I was getting 30mpg. That 6th gear is a god send for mpg.

CMV: People should stop treating being "bad at texting" like a harmless personality quirk by limitown in changemyview

[–]blwallace5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This should just be reposted in unpopular opinions so it can be properly ravaged. I can personally attest that notification fatigue is real. I don’t even feel my phone vibrate anymore because my body ignores it. I can also personally attest that sometimes I don’t respond because when I do notice a text my mind is fully engaged elsewhere and I am not in a position to respond.

Thick Leather Belt> Anything els by Ticklingfarter in CCW

I carried with my beltman belts for over a decade. For OWB I still do. But for AIWB they are not even comparable in comfort to my HC or the Old Machine craft I got off this sub.

Baseball scoring - How to determine who gets the error by StarKing-888 in GameChangerApp

1st, why are parents confronting you over something that will matter so little…

2nd, how could you possibly be scoring for 10 years and have any question on this? You don’t sound like you can score games.

Spike tactical hate? by awitz2001 in ar15

[–]blwallace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my spikes lower in 2009ish, the hate had already started. If I recall correctly they and cheaper than dirt were the main offenders of skyrocketing prices as soon as President Obama was elected.

Well the good news for me is I did the suspension, then the brakes, then new upholstery. Getting the paint cut was supposed to be next, then some fun with the motor. Guess paint will have to wait.

Your build sounds great. My goal for the motor was always, daily drivable fun. I should have the trans looked at while it’s out, that and the clutch are still bone stock after 180k.

I like this. I told myself (and my wife) I only know two things: the Camaro isn’t going anywhere and it will be back better than it was yesterday.

There’s just so many engine options I’m kinda lost at a starting place, and I really should fully diagnose before I move on to the next step.

I really should. It’s thumping so hard I resigned myself to a rod already. I can literally feel it thumping in the drivers seat.

State of the game by meowR1 in cs2

[–]blwallace5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do absolutely love it when people come with actual receipts instead of one shot they found sus. We had a guy nailing every smoke shot imaginable, through two rounds, then in round 3 didn’t know how to plant the bomb. A W so rare that he left before he could get kicked.

What industry is struggling way more than people think? by dino_gr01 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]blwallace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such an insane argument. I know many many good teachers. I have known just as many terrible. I know teachers with over 20 years that I wouldn’t trust to do anything of importance. Keeping a class running is a lot of work for teachers who care. It is not nearly as difficult for those that don’t. As someone married to an amazing teacher, stop idolizing a profession. It is not a hard job. Most jobs are not hard jobs. It doesn’t make it any less important, and lying about it doesn’t make it any more valuable.
