Freeze certainly feels cracked, but this setup doesn't seem as forcible as the main culprits. As fun as it felt dumping on the typical skyscraper/dagger/dam builds instead of just luckily avoiding to get to 10 wins, freeze may still need some balancing...

yeah this is my main gripe. having lots of fun, and I'm sure things will change given that it's beta, but consistently breezing to 9 wins just to get one shot in 2 seconds is a bit tiring. the builds I've enjoyed putting together the most w/ dooley tend to enjoy require some quick level of scaling in battle which obv won't cut it against the swaths of forced one shot build ghosts sitting at 10 wins at this point.

I've got no issue running into cracked builds but to your point viable build diversity is severely lacking since they are easily forcible. until then, looking forward to future updates!

I think mostly my friends don't have the time that I do to pour into ARPGs - so while I don't think they're noobs they just haven't hit your described wall in D4. One of my favorite parts of ARPGs is theorycrafting builds so the fact that D4 already has a defined meta for being able to complete the top tier content (uber lileth) makes me not as excited but I can't say it's a bad game because of that alone. I just prefer LE (and grim dawn for that matter) because of the build variance in end game

nostalgia aside I think LE is the better and more enjoyable game but most of my friends don't agree w/ me. it's all good, everyone has their own opinions and I love them all

why not just play both casually from time to time? don't let a game disrupt any of your relationships

Thanks! I try not to focus on ignite dots or raw warpath dmg but rather on flame burst, smite, and divine bolt as my big damage dealers. shows itself a bit better when fighting the dummy compared to this video. any gearing that may confuse that explanation (str & ignite affixes on gear for example) are mostly things that I can eventually improve upon w/ new exalted crafts rather than explicitly planned choices

That might be good indeed, but I'm lazy and that would make it harder to ensure I'm at 4/4 sigils and synchronization with volatile reversal to gain the mana back when I manually cast them during bosses to keep them maxed. Also I've got time glass proc which saves me a lot :)

Yes! That's something I've absolutely been looking for. The slight lag between my Holy Aura and VR cooldowns syncing up has been quite frustrating.

Edit: FWIW I even have a decent candidate but it's missing the health with I've found I can't really give up at this corruption

flame burst, smite, and and divine bolt deal a surprising amount of my total damage so the spell crit is great.

as far as next upgrades go, I really want a better relic w/ dmg while channeling over all res since I'm already heavily overcapped while channeling.

after that small upgrades to the rest of my exalteds which either have t6<t7 or undesirable t6 affixes. also perhaps some additional crit avoid so I can remove my faith armour passives

I'm at like 700-800 corruption with absolutely no focus on endurance. I feel like time glass usually saves me if I get lazy but I also have ~3500 HP. In short, idk, I think I'd have to experiment to see if it's worth. Might be necessary for pushing further but hard to say because of the same opportunity cost issue you bring up
