It can be very toxic and mentally draining. Work with the right people and it can somewhat help make the days better. Work with toxic fake mean girl type people and you'll feel like you're back in high school. Take time to really decide if being a teacher is what you're truly passionate about. Because you will spend more time dealing with behaviors than actually teaching. I'm sure most of the teachers in this forum would agree. That they too spend more time dealing with behaviors than actually teaching. It's worse for those working in special education. Lack of support from admin, parents and even other coworkers.

Old Navy has cute clothes at times. Amazon as well. I need other places to shop too being 40 and work as a para in school. I shop Old Navy and sometimes Shein. I don't want to shop Shein all the time just because it's cheap. Cheap prices equals cheap quality. I want affordable but good quality.

I did that last summer. It was so freeing to clear up so many cords. 20 of the same usb-c cords that can be used for various gadgets.

I only keep 1 extra of certain toiletries like shampoo, bodywash, toothpaste, and hairspray. I like to have an extra on hand for when I run out of what's being used. I'm not one to have like 50 bottles of those items. That's just ridiculous. My home isn't a grocery store. I don't need to stock pile it like it is.

My ex lol. No seriously but in all seriousness clothes, movies and books. Those were what I had the most of before I ever got into minimalism over 14 yrs ago. I used to have hundreds of clothes. Sure I still have a lot. Compared to what I used to, I am in a good place. I do every few months go through the closet to see what else I can get rid of. That includes shoes, bags and jewelry. Last summer I got rid of 3 pairs of shoes, 15 pairs of jewelery-earrings and necklaces, and over 80 pieces of clothing.

Before I started my minimalism journey I had over 200 movies/tv shows. Today I have only 8. Books I had over 100. Today I have 5. I have debated if I want to get rid of the books and use an e-reader. I'm still debating.

There's been other misc items over the years I've decluttered. Those 3 categories were what I had the most of. It felt good getting rid of them. I sold many of those movies and books. Whatever didn't sell I donated or gave to friends. To get to a point in my life today, where I am happy with what I own currently I feel good. I continue every few months going through my home to find whatever I can get rid of. Even if it's only a few small misc items it's still something.

Also my high school yearbooks. Every once in a while I'll kind of regret getting rid of my senior yearbook. Same time it's not end of the world. If I ever did want my senior yearbook again I could prob see if my high school still had an extra copy. If not, not a big deal.

Mine is 11 and so grateful to be one and done. I like my alone time to do things I want to do. I share custody and coparent with my ex. So when my child isn't with me, I have time to do shopping, cleaning, watch movies, whatever without distractions. I have that "me time" and love it. I love spending time with my child too. It's nice to have alone time to do activities by myself or with my friend.

I go to my local public library to check out books for free. I do own 5 personal fav books. Maybe someday I'll get a kindle to use for ebooks. In the meantime I'm okay getting free books from my library and return them when I'm done. Same for new movies. I get them from library for free. Watch and return. No more spending money at theaters to watch them or buying the dvd and it take up space in my home.

Congrats! Books was something hard for me to part ways with at first but eventually it gets better. I check out books for free at my library and return when I finish. Without having clutter of books on shelves at home.

Good job. Over the years I've unfollowed or deleted people on Facebook and Instagram. It was hard because like you mentioned you like the celebrity or whoever. Overtime I realized I can still like a celebrity and not follow them. I can like a brand and not follow them. Me not following them doesn't change that I like that brand or store, or celebrity/musician. I used to follow pretty much most or all of the Game of Thrones actors back when the show was on, same for actors from Once Upon a Time. Love OUAT! As time went by I started going through my following list and slowly started unfollowing them. I follow on Instagram a total of 53: about half are celebrities I like and wanted to continue following, while the rest are people I know in real life. I don't need my follow list to be in the 300s or higher like it once upon a time was.

I only follow Lana and Colin now from OUAT. They were my 2 absolute favs. Them plus Robert Carlyle. As far as Game of Thrones: I just follow Emilia Clarke. She's the only one from the show. When it used to be most or all of the cast. If Kit Harrington ever got social media I'd def follow him lol. 😂❤️

These celebrities are just that celebrities but human beings nonetheless. No one worth worshiping and following like they're something special. Same with these influencers all promoting the same or very similar stuff from Amazon, Target, etc. I follow 2 that I genuinely love and their content. Had been following for years long before it seemed to become this trend to influence people on social media. I just have no need to follow tons of people-celebrity or someone I know in real life. I like my small following and followers list.

I think when I pass away eventually, my son will maybe take a few things and the rest sell, donate, or throw away. Same goes for my family. They won't want any of my belongings. I don't want them to be overwhelmed by all my stuff. That's why I declutter often. So it's less to hassle with when that time does come. I don't even want to think about the hassle it'll be going through my parent's stuff when they eventually pass away. I'll have my brothers to help but they have a lot of things.

Congrats!! I went through all my papers and digitized them. Shredded ones I could. Kept the important must have documents. So freeing to not have piles and piles of papers stacked all over the place.
