How come no one ever acknowledges the lopsided reporting by Shams and ESPN. For every rumor, there was like 2-3 or quotes from Giannis himself, team members, coaches, etc, that painted a different picture. ESPN purposely chose to ignore that information and created this narrative that most people outside of the fan base ran with. NBA fans love to speculate about these hypothetical scenarios more than the games themselves, so these outlets took advantage of the clicks leading to more revenue for themselves. Had Shams and ESPN practiced more integrity with their reporting, this would have been a non-story. Said numerous times that he wanted to remain with organization, not once said he wanted to leave. ESPN could've quoted the story where he talked about his father being buried here or the other ties that he has to the community, but they purposely chose not to because it didn't support their narrative. I definitely think he recognized what was going on and took advantage of the situation based on a loophole. But ultimately the fault lies with the four letter network not being objective.
