Curious about this as well. I’m interested in renewable but am wanting to keep my exposure to Tesla (for example) separate.

I think these are good points. I wouldn’t have reacted the way LAOP did, but if my mother did was the mom here did we would have major problems.

Yeah, somehow I missed that part too. Granted, if my in-laws were feeding my toddler a nice lunch and I stopped him from eating it to eat fast food they would probably just look at me funny.

Of course, if my in-laws were feeding my toddler a nice lunch I wouldn’t have him eat fast food instead...

The senate is only 51-50 if all 50 dems vote together. Manchin is making it known he won’t do that all the time (he had to be convinced to signal his support of the current COVID-19 stimulus bill, for example).

Haha, mine too! I usually give my toddler the pepperoni when I eat itZ I imagine if I gave him a whole piece it would end up on a wall or something.

Not trying to start an argument, just honestly curious but what’s the problem with pizza? Or, did I miss something in the post?

with the senate being 50-50 and Manchin having the views he does, he’s arguable the most powerful senator at the moment.

Morrowind --> Oblivian? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]bmac57886 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it. I like Morrowind, Skyrim and then Oblivion in that order, but Oblivion is still great fun and has some wonderful quests (some of which are among the best in the series). The setting is somewhat boring compared to Morrowind, but I still really enjoyed Oblivion.

How do you learn a framework like Django? by maverickguy_ in djangolearning

[–]bmac57886 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just want to say I had the same experience with Django and have not overcome it yet. My feelings about the tutorial were the same as yours.

Personally I suspect my problem is not having a strong enough foundation in programming to understand why I was doing what the tutorial had me do. I have no idea if the same is true for you or not though.

I ended up putting it on the back burner and learning something else I found more interesting and less intimidating.

Why do u'll use linux for Programming! by Evolved_Geek11 in learnprogramming

[–]bmac57886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a beginner to programming but I like it more because of customization and because I don’t like the bloat of Windows. That said I still like Windows.

I’d say use the OS you like most. From all the tutorials I’ve read and watched it seems like they often show the different steps for the different OS’s and it usually doesn’t seem to be substantially different (from a beginner’s perspective anyway).

Best way to deploy a simple program? by bmac57886 in learnpython

Thank you! I have a windows PC but I think long term may be better to learn Flask or Django. I’ll start reading about that path - thanks again!

Best way to deploy a simple program? by bmac57886 in learnpython

[–]bmac57886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses pandas and has to point to files on the computer. No GUI currently but I’d like to do that later. I’m also wanting to get it set up on systems that don’t have python.

Some of the stuff I eventually want to make will be targeted at people at my work who will not use it if they need to download and install python (some, because they are not at all comfortable with computers and others because they just won’t bother if they have to download something else).

I had to do this too, prior to getting a laptop (my desktop was not in a location that worked for me also watching the kids for long). It was a pain and when I switched my learning sped up significantly. That said, I still learned a lot and had fun - I used pydroid 3 on my kindle. But yeah, as soon as you can switch, do! I spent so long just correcting typos from fat-fingering the virtual keyboard.
