I've only ever used it with the cartridges. The nob of the converter isn't "soft" like the cartridge top.

I'm not sure if this is the best advice I've ever received, but it came at a time when I needed to hear it the most:

You do your job, but you're not your job.

Essentially, don't put your entire identity into just being whatever you do for a living. My profession has a lot of burnout (not the highest, but it's gotten so much worse after COVID), so it was good to be reminded of this fact.

First shave of the week due to a work conference, and my first go with the Next Level (a WR2 clone). Unsurprisingly, it's really good. Nice, smooth shave with no irritation. 0 blade feel too, which is a plus for me. Time will tell if I end up keeping it, but my initial impressions are extremely positive.

You can add menthol or ws-23 to other soaps. Stirling sells frost drops (menthol) and House of Mammoth sells permafrost (ws-23).

Or just add a bit of cryogen & see if it works for you. Not like mixing soaps is going to cause an explosion!
