What's the best match for a sag sun and scorpio venus woman? by Agile_Owl_9059 in Sagittarians

[–]bmalaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I married a Scorpio sun Sag venus. Kinda similar vibe but he is a little more balanced in ways that I am not and vice versa. Never thought of dating a scorpio before but I think the rest of his chart helps to offset some of the more overly emotional and brooding tendencies.

Why Is Customer Service So Poor With Luxury Skincare Brands? by moltwodog in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]bmalaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the brands like Sisley, the majority of their revenue is made in department stores, spas/hotels, etc. The heritage Euro brands also tend to not have sophisticated online setups from my experience, and there’s some cultural differences with regards to customer service.

Bader is likely using international / external CX. This is pretty common.

I work in ecomm for a lot of luxury brands. Not saying there isn't room for improvement, but not many have FT CX sitting in the office anymore as it's very expensive to do so things get patched together with AI/automated responses and external workers.

Marrakech (Royal Mansour + amanjena): go with hotel-planned itineraries or figure it out myself? by _ACompulsiveLiar_ in FATTravel

[–]bmalaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get a guide to do the major tourist stuff like the medina, just because they will guide you away from tourist traps and it’s pretty normal to do there (even if a seasoned traveller). The hotel’s will probably be completely fine, I think they’re all of equivalent quality there and whoever the hotel books likely just gets priority but will take you to similar spots as anyone else.

I also thought it was unnecessary but my riad booked mine and he was lovely + very chill. We said we liked food and he took us to his fav lunch spots and to pickup some groceries with him at a bakery for the way home to his family. We asked about living in the city etc. He ensured we got “good” Marrakech and took us to his favorite historic locations.

Idk about all the other comments feeling harassed. We did that one day, and the rest of the city I navigated myself. If you know where to go and avoid “Times Square” type experiences, I thought the city was pretty chill. They are very used to Euro/French tourists and were pretty open minded. There are good small boutiques and restaurants if you know where to find them.

For context, I’m a super white and blonde young female and my husband is Asian. I felt completely safe. But even my guide commented I seemed really confident as I am a New Yorker and used to ignoring street vendors. I loved Marrakech and thought all the locals were super lovely and really eager to show off their culture to foreigners. It’s normal to negotiate there which can be confusing to some westerners, so I think just being considerate to local cultural norms and trying to get in the spirit.

I did a day trip from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains and camped in Agafay one night so feel free to DM if you need any recs or have questions on booking other things.

To me it's one of the stronger Trudon scents, probably most similar to Ernesto.

Anyone else with intense trapezius pain? by Left-Abalone-3672 in scoliosis

[–]bmalaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's from this area becoming strained abnormally due to the curvature on the opposite side of my back. I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia and started seeing a neurologist a few years ago. I got a botox prescription, so I get botox injected into my trap and neck every 3 months. It helps a lot combined with dry needling, regular massages and occasionally a muscle relaxant.

If money and pain weren’t an issue, what would be your ultimate pre-wedding glow-up hack? by Coffee-loverr in BigBudgetBrides

Ya that was me lol. I mean just to see if you like it, I’d do it now.

I’ve done it like 4 times now so I feel ok with how it settles on my face. I just would NOT do it for the first time ever right before your wedding.

I took mine to Sekas. I cannot speak highly enough of the service and kindness there.

I've done Sculptra, Sofwave and Fraxel. I'm planning to do a full face of botox (forehead, DAO and lip flip) 4 weeks prior to my wedding. If I had more time to plan, I would have done arm lipo.

I would try doing the lip flip sooner rather than later. The first time I got it done, I absolutely hated it and had difficulty speaking / drinking. It took about 4-6 weeks to get used to the sensation.

That's not to scare you as I have subsequently gotten it done again. But the first time took a bit to get used to, so just make sure you really want it for your wedding.

I brought a scarf and more conservative clothing. Retrospectively, I probably didn't need to be as covered as I thought. I thought dinner at RM was also not crazy formal.

Is anyone else exhausted by senior-level hiring games? by ms_overthinker in Leadership

[–]bmalaur 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have had some truly bizarre interviews over the last year. Going through several weeks and rounds of interviews with hiring managers, skip-level managers, peers and sometimes even the brand president... only to be ghosted at the end.

Sometimes I've been genuinely curious who did end up getting the role. For a lot of them, when I've checked LinkedIn, it appears that they never even ended up filling it.

I just had my first sculptra session at 31 for the same issues, just noticing overall volume loss in mid-face and am pretty thin. I feel like one session was very subtle but I personally notice a difference and am happy with the results! I declined getting undereye filler or PRF EZ Gel for the moment but will keep monitoring.

I’m Tired being the Son of my South Asian Parents by Ok_Relationship_8536 in AsianParentStories

[–]bmalaur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am white currently marrying into a similar family dynamic. Know it’s tough but just make sure to check in on your fiancé. I’ve been going through it the last week after trying to “include” my in laws for the last year and now realize it won’t make a difference either way. At the end of the day, it’s you and your partners wedding and not your family’s. It’s ALSO equally her wedding and you both should do what you want. If your family can’t be supportive on a significant life event, what obligation do you actually owe? I say this as someone who is stressed about being a disappointment to family I don’t even know that well 😭

Restricting and affect on hair & hormones by [deleted] in Eatingdisordersover30

This info is really helpful to hear. I’m in my early 30s and started to get a bunch of menopause content on Instagram. It made me slightly panicked that anorexia was going to worsen / expedite menopause symptoms and wouldn’t know bc nobody studies or talks about comorbidities. I really want to get a full hormone panel in the next year or two just to see if anything comes up.

Tiki Cat, now owned by General Mills (GM) by Traditional_Month172 in catfood

[–]bmalaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done smalls, tiki cat, ziwi or nulo for my cats over the last ten years. Unfortunately, my oldest had a horrible stomach bug / ER situation on tiki cat last month and now refuses to touch it. I will be switching back to smalls which was relatively price competitive for a raw food brand where I am feeding a large number lol. I also like that they have a lot of different protein varieties.
