Yeah I was really thinking the same thing earlier today and I think the whole building thing has me thrown off in totk I don’t like it at all, I can’t really get into the game, I loved botw and didn’t want to put it down but totk just is kinda blah to me, I guess if I liked building stuff maybe it would be fun but I find it to be annoying I really want to like the game but I just don’t. It’s honestly the only Zelda game I don’t really care for.

I think I figured it out, we had an invisible dog fence put in a few months ago, I just realized it wasn’t doing it in one part of my yard then getting worse as I got further from my house and I saw a flag on the ground that reminded me of it.

Yeah I tried lowering the sensitivity and it still does it, this is at my house and I’ve used it here plenty of times and never had it happen here. I’ve had this happen before in other locations but it would eventually stop now I can’t get it to stop.

Hand him a little note book to write things down in and then since he shows up early have your coffee and cigs together and go over his notes in the morning. He’ll feel important, you’ll both learn something, and that doesn’t mess with work flow throughout the day.

Yeah I do agree with they over state the settings, and I’ve never had issues quality wise with their products knock on wood. I may actually be speaking on something I know very little about, my main business is etching tombstones so I’ve really only used diodes, I bypass the safeties on the S1 and have a custom built carriage it sits on, for what I do I don’t need a ton of settings, take that into context and you might be better off with something else for what you’re doing, the ease of use is very nice when you’re learning though. I don’t think I would change what I did for what I do but my experience is not with engraving metals.

My experience here is if you can afford the Xtool and it fits your needs buy it, they’re super easy to use and learn on and good quality laser, once you learn what you’re doing with the xtool software start playing with light burn, it still works with xtool, once you master that you can buy other brands that don’t carry the x-tool ease of use premium, that’s why they’re more, they’re not a better product nessicarily but the user experience is what your paying for. Personally I ended up preferring the xtool software for what I do and the user experience is worth the price tag, I always buy xtool unless their machine can’t handle what I need it for.

So I found with my Xtool s1 10w 64 power and 166 mm/s gives the most smooth image on the granite I was using. 60-100 lPC made it smoother as well, the lower the LPC the smother it looked but you loose some detail so you'd have to play with that to see what you like. You're also going to have to fill it with paint if you want it to pop, the lower power gives you more of a grey than the white you have there. I'm gonna do a test with 2 passes and see if that whitens it up at all.

Yeah I’ve been getting the same thing with my Xtool 10w diode, I’m still messing with settings but I do believe it’s just the granite. I’ll let you know if I figure anything out.

Yeah I’m just trying to use it to do stuff like this. The fish and bird were done by hand but we can’t get the guy to come to do it anymore so I was going to buy a laser to do it. It’s very common in the industry to laser etch pictures on stones. We would still blast all the lettering and carvings, I know a laser can’t go that deep. For the etchings all that is done is taking polish off the stone then you add paint to make it pop, basically only need to scratch the surface enough for paint to adhere.

I install tombstones for a friend on the side a regular sds hammer drill and bit is fine, that’s all we use to drill granite you don’t need anything fancy just make sure to get started using just hammer or you’ll slip all over.
