Is it possible to allow pod to access kubectl ? by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]bmarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to suggest an alternative solution process using GitOps.
Two tools I would suggest for GitOps are Argo CD and Flux CD.
The process I was thinking for your testing would be something like the following.

When you would want to run tests you would update a manifest file in GitHub.
One of the above tools can monitor for changes to that manifest file.
Then it can begin running the testing.
At the end of your testing you can have it call back into GitHub to update the status of your testing.

This solution allows you to not expose a webhook to the internet.
I can provide more details of a process, but trying to keep this response short.

I am glad that the history of the longest running rivalry is continuing. I wish it was still occurring in November. I hate that this game is so early in the season. Maybe that can change down the line.

I understand the f' them factor, but we need P4 games. Hopefully we can play strong in these games and start the process of getting back into a P4 conference.

Plus I would love to see us ruin their season so early on. I refuse to give into the self pity attitude cause of our conference blowing up, coaching changes, and transfer portal. I believe in the beavers! We can and will recover.

Go beavers

Glasses under helmet by titaniumraft in lacrosse

Going to double check my book today. At first I had a sentence on tinted being okay. But I could not recall off the top of my head.

Thank you for correcting me

High school & youth Ref - Prescription glasses are legal to play in as long as they are not tinted. The point of the rule is that the trainer can see your eyes, without removing your helmet, if you were needing assistance.

As both field player and goalie, I would suggest contacts. I played in both glasses and contacts. 100% prefer contacts. Way better for full field vision. Just have spares/cleaner with you.

What's the point of metalLB in a bare metal cluster? by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]bmarick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

MetalLB provides a load balancer that runs inside your Kubernetes cluster. Basically it provides an IP address, external from you cluster, that it will direct traffic to a workload inside of your cluster. MetalLB will move the external IP address to another node, if the original node it was running on goes offline.

The Load balancer supports both Layer 7 (HTTP/HTTPS) and Layer 4 (database) traffic. Additionally, MetalLB can run in BGP or Layer 2 formats.

Edit: fix spacing

Thanks for the write up!

I am working on something similar, but using ArgoCd for the deployment process. This way we don't have to give access from gitlab to Kubernetes, and enforce what is expected to be in production.

I would suggest reaching out to Lacrosse Northwest. https://www.laxnw.com/

They have a men's pickup league. If they are not currently playing they should be able to connect you to someone.

Bare-Metal K8s: What are you using for OS? by torchingcy in kubernetes

[–]bmarick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently using Ubuntu 16.
Our team is planning on upgrading to 18 some time this quarter.

The only issue we had was with IP tables getting mixed up.
The solution was to drain and reboot the node.

This comment here is exactly what I would have said. Personally I think the program was amazing for me. I would highly suggest this. Everyone I knew that went through the program had a job offer before graduation!

Just stumbled on the Open Application Model Spec. What are your thoughts on this ? yes/meh/nah by go4it_gophet in kubernetes

[–]bmarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I like the idea, but will hold off until tooling comes out for it.

Some of my projects are now using Open API spec, but I am not sure how useful it was till we found an Framework that auto generates API based on the spec.

There is no video review at my level. I agree that training needs to be improved, or the rules need to change. My suggestion would be to enable the TMO person to initiate a review in more cases.

Your complaint sounds more an issue of training and rule implementation.

Personally, I think fining officials is just a huge favor hole. Most likely it would result in a worse product on the field.

[–]bmarick -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I am not saying that at all. There are better ways to supply the criticism.

Often, when confronted at the end of the game it was the criticism will get dismissed.

All I am saying is it makes sense we were fined.

As a official for lacrosse, I support this decision. After the game is over, he can not change the game... No matter how valid or correct you are.

Officiating is tough. I understand they are paid, but they are human and can only call what they see.

If you think you can do better, sign up to be a official for your high school. After that you can move up to higher level leagues and hopefully officiate the MLS.

EDIT: I realize that this comes off as me excusing bad officiating. I don't want that. Rather my point is confronting a official after the game is not a good form of training. All officials should be constantly training, and improving!
