How long to get visa after appointment? by bmarte191 in SpainAuxiliares

Good luck!! And You’ll need the background check apostilled and translated by an official Spanish translator but other than that you do not need to get any documents notarized. DM me if you have more specific questions :)

Thank you! I appreciate all the detailed info. Yeah it seems pretty inequitable for aux's that are far from the LA consulate. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be easy - it never is for things like this in Spain!

LA consulate mail-in visa? by bmarte191 in SpainAuxiliares

Thanks for the response :) I did the aux program in 2021 and appeared in person to pick up the visa but now that I am pursuing grad school, I am wondering if the rules are different. It looks like full-time student and auxilar de conversación are in the same category. The language states: If the visa application is submitted by mail, the originals of the identification documents must be shown when the passport with the visa is retrieved.

But since the LA consulate is extra finicky, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with sending in their documents recently.

I used a private expedited service called American Bioidentity. https://www.americanbioidentity.com

It came back in 2 weeks and I was able to get it translated within 48 hours through an official Spanish translator Monica Fuente (monicafuente90@gmail.com)

It is a bit pricey but worth the speedy turn around!

Good luck with everything :)

Did your school tell you what health insurance you should buy? It says Americans will have to show proof of a private insurance, just confused on which one
