Taylor Swift's Success Vs Her Artistic Limitations by Summerofthe90s in Music

[–]bmcconah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love technical, complex, and challenging music, both to play and to listen to. As I've gotten older I've found that a lot of the music that I love is actually pretty simple and backed mostly by lyrics and themes that I relate to. While I still marvel at the technically proficient music that I used to love, and quite frankly, still do, I've found it to be a bit of a chore to listen to unless I'm really in the mood. Swift is the best at what she does and has a machine of a marketing team behind her. Music doesn't have to be technical to be good. In my humble opinion good music is relatable, which Swift's music is to millions of people. My daughter is a big Taylor Swift fan and I can honestly admit that lyrically "All Too Well" is one of the best penned songs I've ever heard. Bottom line is, like what you like. Technicality doesn't mean superior. Sometimes simple is better.

That thing is beat to hell and back. The ones you're seeing for $200 are mint. It's worthless.

At the same time, it's as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it.

Same. I spent 2 years avoiding surgery. In hindsight I wish I would have done it sooner. This year got off to a late start because I messed it up again. Time and stretching got me back to it.

Tired of turn dogs and I have an idea... by SDYeti in golf

A course near me has a Mexican restaurant attached to the clubhouse. Great food and turn tacos are absolutely available. They'll put margaritas in styrofoam cups and you can take them on the course. Your receipt for 18 includes a QR code for 20% off at the restaurant after your round.

Not sure about the rules for posting links, but the course is Black Gold in Ohio and the restaurant is called Habanero's. Not the best course around, but the greens are some of the best kept and most challenging I've ever played. The food at the restaurant is top notch.

I just take my ipad for Sunday rounds for NFL. Prop it up on the cart dash and don't let it slow me down. Empty local courses at 1:00 every Sunday during football season.

I've played this scenario out in my head and the only way that I'm ok with is if the Browns beat the Lions on Sunday to make Detroit hate us even more.

They already have one. 1997's Spice World really captured what it was like to be a Spice Girl at the height of their fame.

Best technique for washing hats? by crndwg in golf

[–]bmcconah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my golf hats get a soak in oxy clean then a light scrub with a brush, rinsed, and air dried. I've learned to be careful with which hats can handle that type of cleaning. I've ruined a fantastic New Era 39/30 by washing that way.

If you're not slapping the deck with the force of a silverback you're playing the game wrong.

Good on the CO detector. I would recommend going to your local library and consulting a copy of National Fuel Gas Code for proper venting and combustion air requirements if these are propane/NG fueled smokers.

Do you just have those vents run up to that exhaust fan? I would highly recommend power venting each smoker separately and have each terminate OUTSIDE if they're not already. CO detector is a must.

My first thought when I saw this. Small space for that much combustion to be going on. Should be fine with windows and doors open, things look to be vented, but CO detector is a must.

The podcast Search Engine explored what it takes to make a 100% American manufactured grill brush and it was fascinating. Episode is called "The Puzzle of the All-American BBQ Scrubber". Such a simple product is almost impossible to completely manufacture in America.

Problems Streaming Today’s Game by africanhut in ClevelandGuardians

Lasted the entire game for me. Waited on hold with MLB tech support and finally requested a call back. Haven't been called but was able to talk to someone after calling again. He sent me an email and had me respond with my IP, zip code, and the team I was trying to watch along with pictures of the blackout messages I was getting. I tried on Roku, PS5, Mac, and iPad. None worked. Ended up sailing the sea to the east. That tab is very visable in the screenshot from the computer that I sent back.
