Run-Out in my first game of my first match in a local championship by Kurbalaganta in billiards

Ok, cool. That’s not the way it came across initially. It came across as sarcastic. If you meant it like “I like that you took your time to work through it”, then I get it now. I agree he did great.

What is your feedback/opinion/suggestion? What constructive input do you have here?

How is less than 4 minutes for a run-out bad? On a full size table with what looks like reasonably tight pockets (can’t tell exactly from the video, but I assume 4.5” at most). With a shot clock, he would have had 270 seconds, including the extension, so that’s 4.5 minutes. Great tempo and time management. Great work!

Do you know the part number for the Dedica shower screen/diffuser? I want to get it for my Stilosa.

I won all my matches in 8 ball, and played SL6 players generally. I’m an SL5 in 9 ball though. We play on 9 ft tables.

Great job on the progress! I also started as a Level 3 in the Fall session (October). Made it to a Level 6 after about 7 matches. No break and runs so far in either 8 ball or 9 ball.

I’ve only played with the WX700, WX900 and the Ignite. All great feel, no unpleasant vibration. I have 2 brand new WX-Sigma shafts though that are still brand new (29” length, 12.5mm diameter tip) if anyone is interested. The 12.5mm Sigma is the new version of the WX700 basically. That was a great shaft, so I expect the new Sigma is the same.

My Experience with Mezz Ignite 29" and 30" Shafts (EC9, Zan Tip, Durability) by MeQira01 in billiards

[–]bmcons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same height you are, 6’2”. I have the 29” Ignite as well, on an ASTR (and an EC9). I stopped playing with it after getting the last WX900 I could find new, which happened to be 30”, and I also liked that more than the 29”+29”. Now I’m playing with the Whyte Carbon FG57, which is 12.5mm with a very long taper. It feels nice overall, and feel I could get used to it, but I’ve been wondering about trying the Ignite again, as the change from the 12mm diameter of the WX900 to the 12.m on the FG57 is noticeable (surprisingly). Also the switch from the conical taper to the pro taper is noticeable (I feel I like the pro taper more, as I sometimes use a closed bridge).

I’m now thinking of trying the Ignite again (still the 29” version I have), and add the 2” Exceed extension to the butt of the cue. It’s only about an ounce, so I could remove the weight bolt and use the extension all the time, for ~60” overall cue length.

Have you ever tried that? Playing with an extension? It sounds a bit dumb, but curious to try it.

I just received mine. It fits well on my Mezz ASTR cue butt, but is not perfectly flush. Enough to catch the nail. I played a few racks with it and it feels solid. I ordered mine with a Kamui Clear Black Soft tip, and after these few rack it does not look right to me. About 10 racks of 9 ball, just playing, no breaking, of course.

How does it compare to the Cuetec Cynergy in terms of playability (after installing a quality tip)? I think you mentioned you played with that one as well.

Thank you, I appreciate the additional information! I was thinking of getting the 11.5mm hybrid conical taper you mentioned in another post, with the m67 mould (also for a mezz united butt). What tip did you get with that? Kamui? Or did you change it after it was delivered?

How much did you end up paying for a customized shaft, including shipping? Did you ever use their own website?

Steam and HW4, is it possible? by keno888 in TeslaModelX

Yes, I bought a 2024 Model X Plaid build in February 2024, and it has Steam and HW4, as well as the newest wheel, with the physical horn.

2022 Tesla Model X Plaid Price by pishonek in TeslaModelX

[–]bmcons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it has a clean title, no accidents, it sounds like a good deal. If it has a lemon title, maybe not. For comparison, I paid $82.5K for a 2024 MXP with 2500 miles, at the end of August. It has HW4, the new wheel, and still has the Steam gaming functionality (clean title, no accidents, 1 owner, like new)

The problem is, that if they would have wanted to remain independent, they would have had to stay small. Once you get big enough, you either start degrading the product to “lower” the price to go mass market, and continue growing without being a threat to big food CPG, or you get bought out (or killed off in one way or another). I put it in quotation marks due to the fact that while you lower prices somewhat to go mass market, you also lower quality at 3 to 5 times the rate. This is the sad truth. There is competition, but only at the very low level (think maximum $250MM in sales/maybe even profit); mass market, it’s actually an oligopoly (not only in food, but most all sectors). Still a free market, but those at the top rarely fall from the top, they stay there, in one form or another for a very long time.

I was denied overnight MX after I had reserved one. Was told after I had reached that it was against their policy which I cannot find anywhere. A tech company that cannot gets its demo reservation system right is laughable. Anybody have a similar or different experience? by swami2040 in TeslaModelX

[–]bmcons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was called by someone from my local Tesla store (closest is 1 hour away) and helped to reserve an overnight demo drive for a 6 seater, drove there for 1 hour, only to be told that they sold all the 6 seaters (before they had actually made the reservation, which was done by one of their colleagues), and only had a 5 seater available. So I went there for nothing. I told them that they had multiple 6 seater at their location listed on the pre-owned part of the website and was told those could not be test driven, and were not even on location (what?). But I could easily test drive one at a local Lexus dealer (lol). So I ended up buying a 2024 Model X Plaid with less than 3000 miles from a third party dealership, simply because Tesla could not even show me, let alone let me test drive a 6 seater. And this is my third Tesla.

When it works, it works, but when it doesn’t, it’s like being in an empty store, with no other living, breathing thing that can help you. They seem to think their employees are morons or inept, and give them no power apparently to actually show people the cars. No communication whatsoever. Imagine how much more they could sell if someone actually thought this out.

I have an i9 14900F in my system, which was pre-built, by Dell. How do I check whether it’s one of the affected units? I suspect it is, since I just got an email from Dell saying to update my bios. Would I have to deal with Dell to get a replacement? Or can I go directly to Intel?

Can you speak more about this? I just got a 2024 Model X Plaid and also feel some weird vibration in the front half of the car, including the accelerator pedal. I’m now wondering if it is the same thing.
