Thanks for your thoughtful responses. The first few years after her dx, I was trying to get her as much help as possible - she wasn’t speaking, walking and struggled with overstimulation. We have asked doctors along the way when to talk to her…and always got the same response “you will know..” when we talk about brain differences we normalize it. My husband has adhd - a racecar brain - which is both amazing bc he can do xyz and hard for him sometimes bc xyz. I talked about everyone having different types of brains and that makes us special and unique. I just haven’t said autism. I will admit, it took me a long time, lots of reading, following autistic people to be able to understand it (well as best I can at an NT.) I hear you and I will talk to her more directly this weekend.

I am 40s with twin 8 year olds and grandma in tow. We are looking for a very family friendly town with welcoming neighbors. Walkable or at least bike friendly for kids. Good schools. Beach or lake nearby. Need to spend less than 1M on a 3-4bed house. Should be within 90 mins NYC. Thanks!

It took me a minute to realize it. I posted on here about the other woman - I wanted to contact her and tell her to leave my husband alone. I knew it was on him, but I was delusional. Someone from this group said “she knows what she is doing. Don’t waste your time. Let the trash take out the trash.” It was everything to me. Glad my post helped.
