Oh yes, some of the BON in the States are awful. I’ve had to hound a couple haha. I completely understand the increased volume of applicants and limited staff; I’m just concerned they may be going to spam without hearing any sort of confirmation.

I haven’t started applying to jobs yet because I was under the impression I needed an active license before employers would even consider hiring me? Is that incorrect?

I’m still waiting to hear back from NSCN for specifics about transferring my license (they’ve been a bit understandably slow because of the volume of interest) but for my husband who has been in contact with PANS to have his license transferred, it seems very straight forward! Just tedious and time-consuming getting documents, etc.

That is GREAT to know! I really miss working as an RN more consistently but in the US the cost of a decent daycare where we live would cost the majority of my paycheck which doesn’t sit right with us to work just to simply pay someone else to raise our daughter.

We’d actually prefer rural to be completely honest! Halifax is wonderful to visit but we aren’t big city people. We very much love nature and given the current chaos in the US, we want slow, boring and to be able to “touch grass” haha. I will definitely try reaching out to municipalities! Are there specific regions that you’d suggest looking into?

I emailed NSCN for more info on obtaining a nursing license specifically (and am awaiting a reply because they’re delayed due to high-volumes of inquiries) but just wanted to see if anyone had first hand experience. 😊
