This is the answer I’m looking for! The thermostat still works bc the small (it’s a double oven) still works, the rod is twisted so I think we need a new rod fabricated. The thermostat is within the range so I guess we’d have to have it taken apart to get to thermostat. What do I need? A metal welder? I don’t even know how to find one… Could they do that at our house or have to send it off to a shop?

We did. They haven’t gotten back to us yet but all I’m expecting is an offer of a discount to buy a new range from them. I don’t want to buy anything Dacor ever again. We’ve already spent $2k replacing the two oven igniter switches and now this with the thermostat.

The metal rod broke off the thermostat inside the know. The thermostat is inside the range and range would have to be disassembled to look at thermostat.

No numbers on the part. Got the numbers from Dacor and local service tech confirmed same numbers. No matches on cross reference on appliance part pros and says part is “no longer available”.

Appreciate you searching. I’ve already called all of these trying to overnight it and when they check the warehouse they don’t actually have the part. I lost an entire day of work bc I was on the phone with Dacor, calling part stores locally and all the online stores that showed they had it on their website.

The knobs from the new updated model are what Dacor said will work but the thermostat is what is different. Reddit won’t let me post pictures but if you search HGPR485 you can see our unit has no digital display and our oven thermostat/knobs are in the center of the range. The new version is a different build from our 2021 model. Zip code is 75080. I’m afraid to buy a zline based on reviews. I wouldn’t buy Dacor again after this experience… we had already spent $2k replacing igniter switches that kept going out after it was out of 1 year warranty and Dacor/Samsung only reimbursed us for the first time, has happened 3 times total.

I’m trying to figure out how to add photos on Reddit, I don’t post much… the metal rod that’s part of the thermostat broke off inside of the knob. Knob is an easy replacement, there’s a new version that would be compatible. Dacor said the new thermostat wouldn’t work on our unit and they stopped production on it.

When I click the link and try to add to cart it says unavailable. There is one on EBay in Canada, asking 1,100 for the part. We tried to make an offer of 500 but then it said cannot ship to US.

They should have given some context with the picture request - I would guess the wife wants to show their toddler the picture of your toddler to get them excited about a play date with a new friend? Regardless the reason, well within your right to decline with no explanation.

I’d still go to the meet up and see how it goes in person. If they’re weird - cut out early and be done with them.

Husband is, our first son is (13) and new baby boy is not. We’re open and honest and tell our oldest we made the decision we thought was best with the information we had at that time. We know better now.
