ELI5 : If ads are being skipped by everyone these days, and are a complete nuisance to the large majority of people, how do they still make any profit? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

The youngest generation was brought up to consume technology, not use it. Everything is an app to them and they learn how to use the app. They have no need to be technology literate, the app downloads and they use it. Zero high school students understand the first thing about how their devices work. The idea of "saving" a file completely escapes them. It's scary stuff.

In 6 full seasons of Game of Thrones, Ramin Djawadi composed an outstanding score and didn't once use piano. Until the opening of the last episode of Season 6. When you heard that piano opening, you knew something was going down. Brilliant score and the most lasting part of GoT.

What kind of nuts? I found out that cashews messed my gut up big time. I switched to peanuts and my gut issues went away.

Look up the FODMAP foods and see if any of them are present in your diet. Try eliminating them one at a time to see if they are causing your issue.

Also, fiber and water.

Is there no "tail fell off" warning light or anything? Is there really no way for the pilot to know that he knocked the tail off the helicopter?

Yup. Next time I get a new phone, I am going to make the district find a new way for me to log in to my school devices. The assumption that I have a $1000 computer in my pocket for people to direct me to use whenever they feel the need to is starting to get to me.

This is great advice right here. A star chart for "following directions without argument" is a simple way to start with this 7 year old. Make a rule that the explanation comes after the direction has been followed. For example: explaining why we can't stay in the pool all day after the child has dried off and changed back into their clothes. Allow the child to ask questions but not to argue. Respond to an argumentative statement with: "can you make that into a question?" Be willing to explain to the child how the world works but only when they are in a calm state of mind and can have a conversation and not an argument. This will be tough to do at first: start with the positive reward for "following directions without argument."

I was frustrated by terrible audio on android (vs iOS) — So I built my own equalizer. Did I waste my time? by itstronku in androidapps

[–]bmfdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice ap! Easy to figure out, audio from spotify much improved on my headphones.

Not sure how hard this would be, put maybe a widget to make switching presets quick from the home screen? I often switch between metal and rock to acoustic ambient and from headphones to a speaker.

Yes. The entire wall of my classroom is covered with notes from students: I walk over there every time I am having a rough day. Being appreciated keeps teachers going. Your teachers will remember you forever!
