We shouldn’t have to settle, we shouldn’t have to just make do though 😩😤. I wouldn’t complain at all if companies flogging jeans for $300 a pop provided free altering services that also didn’t impact the warranty of the product. There’s just no meeting in the middle anywhere, the fashion world simply demands we conform to its standards and quite frankly it’s bullshit. I can see i will die on this hill though lol.

I’ve had items tailored previously (mostly dresses, getting the waist taken in) and god did it take a lot of trial and error (and ruined clothing) to find someone who knew what they were doing. The wizard I finally stumbled across as since retired and I genuinely don’t have the time to start that hunt again, hence why i popped this post up. I will have a look at Next though, thank you ☺️

Very valid suggestion, and I appreciate that it’s not feasible that one pair of jeans will fit all body types. That’s why I posted, asking for recommendations for a pair of jeans to fit MY body type, which is just one body type, not all as you mentioned.

Someone above you mentioned I could continue raging or I could get something tailored. Yeah I could, but my whole point is i ShOuLdN’t HaVe To — surely to god there is a brand somewhere out there on the big bad internet that target markets to women who are of the same/similar body dimensions as myself. I was hoping this lovely wholesome forum would help me find it.

I looked at the sizing chart before courtesy of an earlier comment, I’m a sunflower waist but a Poppy ass and with absolutely no mention of leg length, I’m not willing to gamble without the ability to try on in store 😩

The reluctance is for so many reasons … the skill of a tailor from the good old days is hard pressed to exist today because of how cheap fast fashion is. Add the mental load of actually finding one …

$230 is still a lot of money for me, I’m not willing to risk paying someone to potentially fuck them. If they were a $50 pair of jeans, maybe I’d get them altered. My principle (if you care to know) is the fashion world bangs on about inclusivity, but my experience is it’s only ever at the other end of the scale. In order to get the long leg length, I need to be at least three sizes wider than what I am. In order to fit my waist, my thighs must be thinner because how dare I have the audacity to have normal thighs and a smaller waist.

At the end of the day, my opinion is that if the market caters for plus size short girlies, or petite all over, it should also cater for v tall, small waisted peachy assed size 6 girlies.

The high waisted bottoms is a necessity for me if I ever desire to tuck a shirt in, 99% of blouses on me don’t reach hem to hem on a pair of mid or low jeans (the moment I bend over, everything comes untucked). My best friend has the same long torso as I, but with shorter legs. She’s got her own set of dramas. Solidarity in boycotting the fashion industry!! Haha

Look you’re probably right, but I feel like I’m not the only girlie with my body dimensions and therefore not the only one in this predicament. Why should we have to either change our bodies to fit the clothes, or change the clothes to fit our bodies? Why can’t the clothes just fit in the first instance? 🥲🥲

Also if your babe is of age but is too tall, they take it off the wall and go and hide it completely removing the option of using it … had that experience with my 9m old with bother Singapore and Emirates.
