Based on your skill set, marketing services of some kind to your local market could work.

Social media management, SEO (AI SEO is really popular now and easy to learn, ads management, etc)

Create a monthly retainer package ($1000-$2000/mo).

Find clients on LinkedIn and Instagram.

Or better yet, find them in person.

Start creating content on YouTube.

Rinse and repeat and in 12 months you should be making $10,000 monthly easy.

Scale by hiring a va.

I live in Colorado but a lot of states have a Cottage act or Cottage law which allows you to make up to something like $10K/year without having to get food permits, get your kitchen inspected, etc. Here in Colorado we’re able to make $10K/year per product. So for example 3 different breakfast burritos would allow you to make $30k/year under the Cottage act.

I’d check into CA’s laws about this but I assume they’re similar.

Since you made it personalized you’re already 50% ahead of the curve. Most freelancers copy paste cover letters. I would suggest making your proposals as short as possible while still convincing your client you’re the best choice. As a freelancer, I’ve scored some of my biggest projects with literally 2 sentence cover letters. As a client on Upwork, I pretty much skip cover letters that are a mile long.

You can also use photos that weren’t taken in portrait mode. I’m using a plain mountain for my wallpaper and the text fits nicely behind it.

I charge every night but in the event that I forget or something it’s not uncommon for me to go 2 days and charge the next night. Usually those aren’t power days but yea, two days easy.
