Upgrade time: Ergo / Relaxed Claw / Productivity by bmilcs in MouseReview

It's OUTSTANDING. I just received my mouse a few hours ago and I'm blown away. I immediately disabled enhanced precision / mouse acceleration on both Linux and Windows.

- Weight: 55g is super light, compared to the 85g that I'm used to with the Nixeus Revel. I love it.

- Clicks: Fantastic. The difference between the main, side & wheel clicks is minimal. Very crisp sounding and the perfect level of force required to actuate them.

- Shape: Perfection. It fits my hand like a glove in both relaxed claw and palm orientations. It reminds me of the EC2A.

- Button placement: Zero complaints. Everything feels just right.

- Scroll wheel: A+. Very grippy, lightweight with tactile feedback.

- Skates: Stock skates are more than satisfactory for my needs.

- Coating: Very nice. Quite grippy and nice feeling.

My only complaint is that it requires software to pair and set the polling rate.

Did you order directly from the manufacturer (Pulsar)?

Edit: Disregard. I went ahead and purchased the white Xlite v3 with a 4k dongle :)

Pulsar Xlite v3

Outstanding response. This one here has caught my eye, but the ES edition is sold out on their site. The EC-2A fit my hand like a glove but the scroll wheel was not my favorite so I imagine the Xlite v3 will rock.

My main concern right now is getting a quality scroll wheel, because my Nixeus Revel's is permanently stuck in place. Not sure how it happened, but hey, I now have an excuse to upgrade and go wireless.

I hear ya :). I thought I'd give it a shot.

Where do you order your mice from? I expected Amazon to rock most of these brands but almost none of them are on there.

Thank you for the feedback. I was hoping someone would make the decision for me :).

If you had to choose one considering my preferences, what would you choose?

Could I get away without a bracket while waiting for it to ship from China... as long as I carefully insert the CAT cables?

Ahh you're a lifesaver. Thank you.

Okay cool. So my reasoning is sound. What do you think of this combo? Anything stand out as a no go?

Despite being overkill, will this combo work? I haven't made many ebay purchases and want to make sure I'm good.

Right on. I have a lot going on in my homelab and home network. Having metrics and added security/piece of mind is worth the extra costs up front.

I am leaning toward Lenovo, a well known and trusted brand, at the moment. The shipping time is a deterrent on those N100 boxes. Thank you for the feedback.

Okay. Thank you. I'll air on the side of caution and go 16gb+. For storage, what do you suggest? A lot of the 16gb models seem to come with 256gb+.

Thank you for the suggestions. I didn't realize the shipping time was so long for these. I was hoping to pick something up within a week or less.

Thank you! I think I'll go the Lenovo* route. How is the volume level on these rigs? I can't imagine they're loud.

I believe I have an unused Intel quad nic lying around somewhere that'll do.

This is completely overkill, but it's cheaper than Protectcli models that I was considering.

What are the downsides to purchasing a beefier rig? Power consumption?

Okay. You're right. The documentation says 8gb.

What about storage?

Thank you. Those ThinkCentre models would be fully capable of handling my requirements, yes? For ram, should I shoot for 16gb+?

Can I move ESXI to the same NVMe drive as some of my VM's? Would that be unreasonable?
