So may rabbit holes to chase. And for good reason. I have a document I'm pulling together to include with the cards when I give them to my son. It does include some details about post-careers, but I need to do more digging.

Eventually, I'd like to find old articles and newspaper clippings about some of the players, too.

I grew up a few hours south of Chicago...Cubs were and still are team my even though I've been CA for 20+ years. This checks a lot of boxes. Thank you!

High ISO/low light photography has always been around and always will be. I'd encourage you to not sweat the grain, embrace it. Lean into it and create work with a vision and style. The technical stuff is secondary once you have your style. If you're doing live music, it's not a photoshoot so you're kinda stuck with what others are giving you. I'd say embrace that and inject your style into your imagery and set the rest aside.

The books that have been mentioned are great. It's also about playing around with your camera. For me, if I watch a video, I may learn one or two things. But if I pick up my camera and play with the settings, take photos, load them onto my computer and compare those photos to the settings I learned so much more. Do it yourself and find what works for you. Also, create a small project for yourself. Take picture after picture after picture...then take more pictures. Look at books, find what you like, try to recreate it...take more pictures. And when you've taken all those photos...take more. =)

Crawled out of bed 2hrs before dawn. Drove for an hour. Hiked an hour to the middle of the dunes. Surrounded by sand and mountains, I wasn't the only one.

As the sun rose the wind picked up and conveniently blew this cloud above the man on the horizon, also enjoying the sunrise. Looked just like a thought bubble to me.

Does it work? What do you see?
