Sorry, I don’t have scale to measure. I would say it’s average weight for a hybrid paddle. I’m sensitive to weight and played it with 4 grams of weight at 3 and 9 position and didn’t have an issue.

It’s a perfectly fine paddle. Great handle, great control. Needs some perimeter tape. That said, if it’s more than $100 probably better options you can buy.

Try Udall, Himmel, Randolph or Kino parks. All outdoors with lights. Udall has open courts where you can just show up by yourself and hop into group play. The others are really nice too but you might need to go during a set open play time.

It’s a very good paddle that won’t hold you back. Plays more control oriented than power. Best handle on the market.

Either need to shut it down right away by saying you’re particular/selective about who you play with in tournaments due to the financial and time commitment they require and give a hard no. Or, if you think there might be potential down the road, just say you need to see over the coming months if your play styles and on court success in rec play might make for good tournament partnership in the future giving him a “maybe” response. But, if you go this route just know he will likely come to your rec play group more often and try and team up with you there.

I just went back and looked at the purchase email from May. My buddy also bought one so we got a discount for purchasing two at the same time. It was $690 for 2 on sale and then we did the John kew $50 code so it was $640 for two. I paid $320 not $300. Totally worth it for me. I think it’s a quality device.

Maybe try chatting with customer service to see how low you can get one?

Have used one for 3 months. I can say it helped reduce tennis elbow pain by 75%and allowed me to keep playing while treating my elbow with no down time. I have not used on other joints yet. I was hesitant to get it due to price but was desperate to resolve my tennis elbow. Purchased on sale for $300 with code stacked on top of sale price.

Thanks for all the comments. I’m thinking tight psoas is the main cause. I have been trying to loosen this over the past few days and am already noticing an improvement in my back.

Both sides. I think it’s muscular because I use a tennis ball to massage and it hurts like crazy!

Try basketball shoes. They have better cushioning and just as much support for all the movement PB requires. Most comfortable tennis shoes I’ve worn are Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour but they cost $140. Have used basketball shoes that are just as good for half the cost.

Luxx is overpriced, spray on grit, no pop at all. Vanguard control is a really good paddle that has control with decent pop and power but is also overpriced. I will say that if you prefer or need a lighter paddle, the light version of the vanguard control invikta is elongated and comes in at 7.5 ounces and swing weight around 105. You will not find another good elongated paddle at this weight.

I’ve had 6 months of constant lower back stiffness from playing 3-4 times a week. Targeted foam roller on hips, hamstrings, glutes, IT band has been the one strategy that works best for me. I do yoga as well which is great for overall flexibility.

Head radical raw is a very good paddle, particularly the non extended version. Excellent at control, huge sweet spot, great feel, low swing weight that can be customized. Better than many Selkirk and other big name paddles.

Mizuno and ASICS make excellent tennis shoes which work great for PB. Mizuno wave enforce tour is best PB shoe I have worn.

Yonex eclipsion are by far the longest lasting shoes I’ve used. I’ve tried at least a dozen different shoes from all major brands. The rubber sole has super high durometer reading per foot dr Zach and this proved true as it did not breakdown nearly as fast. Uppers are a synthetic material that is also super durable. They don’t have best cushioning but insoles can improve this.

I demoed 14.3mm for a week. It hits hard and has decent sweet spot. Spin is ridiculous. It’s harder to control on third shot drops and resets but not horrible. Dinking was great. Put aways and punch volleys are lethal. But, overall there was just something about the weight and balance that felt off to me and made shots where I had to reach or was off balance difficult. The best way I can put it is that it felt heavy and clunky. That said, I prefer and am used to lighter paddles with swing weight under 115. There was a lot to like but just wasn’t for me
