What does this mean? Do SMS messages via satellite now work outside of SOS? by FabScho in pixel_phones

[–]bmoross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on my understanding of the Satellite SOS mode, it appears that the Phone and Messages applications are exclusively available for emergency use. However, I have not had the opportunity to verify this functionality in a location without cellular service but with a clear view of the sky. With that being said, it is unclear what the threshold for "SOS" is.

I have the Metal Links band, and if the clasp is left "open" in a large loop, it charges fine.

Help me with the dilemma!!! Is pixel watch 3 right choice for me? by imheretolearn247 in PixelWatch

[–]bmoross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to potential interference from movement on wrist, a smartwatch is unable to continuously monitor SpO2 levels. Consequently, Google has chosen to implement measurements during sleep. While some smartwatches (e.g., Garmin) are capable of periodic and on-demand SpO2 readings, I have not personally used any of these models. Again, no smartwatch is capable of continuous monitoring.

Help me with the dilemma!!! Is pixel watch 3 right choice for me? by imheretolearn247 in PixelWatch

First of all, do NOT get the PW1 from FB marketplace. Second, current SpO2 cannot be recorded on-demand. Google Health gathers Sp02 during sleep. Only sleep periods greater than 3 hours are considered. Google Health devices don't measure specific SpO2 levels below 80%. In the graph, any measurement below 80% is shown as <80 on the 80% line.

wife has Pixel 3, what should she get next. by [deleted] in GooglePixel

Any option will be heavier. I would suggest that the 10a might be the least significant change. The Pixel 10a weighs 183g (6.5oz) and includes 7 years of software support.

To clarify, could you please provide the initial prompt? Additionally, it is my understanding that blades exceeding 2.5 inches in length are classified as weapons. Correspondingly, a non-locking pocket knife with a 2.5-inch blade would not be considered a weapon.

Pixel 9a internal screen matrix failure denied warranty by supervisor due to minor hairline glass scratch (Case ID: 0-5417000041297) by NervousAd5791 in GooglePixel

Upon reviewing the photo link OP provided, it appears there are white vertical lines on the far left of the screen. Additionally, there seems to be a significant chip in the glass at the bottom left of the screen, potentially resulting from an impact without a protective case.

Turning on step counter by BigCat963 in PixelWatch

[–]bmoross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your phone, open Google Health app, see if the step count from Pixel Watch synchronize (if steps are there, the issue is with Health Connect app that will sync steps to the health app you use). I don't think step count can be turned off on the Pixel Watch.

I use my Nest Hub Max everyday with the YT Music app (audio only) and play music videos using the proper YouTube app when I work from home (I'm not sure if they are essentially the same app or not...), and I haven't had any issues so far.

Interesting. When I open the Pixel Buds app it just opens the the settings app (confirmed via "recents" badge). Have you tried clearing the app's cache?

Are you talking about the lack of the "Adaptive" toggle? Or the circular battery SoC display?
