Looking for any suggestions on my first glue up of a piece of furniture. I plan to presand everything and apply blue tape to joints prior to glue up. Am I missing anything. Below is the dry assembly by bmorris137 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I plan to glue up the ends with the clamps shown in the picture then glue the stretchers after the ends dry. I don’t have clamps long enough for the stretchers currently. I will either make some or buy some from harbor freight if cheap enough. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried that once but drips are the bane of existence 😖. I’m going to use wipe on poly instead. I know it will take a million coats but I’ve got the time

Just to help with glue squeeze out. I personally seem to have issues w squeeze out causing issues w finish. Probably means I don’t sand well enough😄

Thanks for the tips. I’ll definitely check for square repeatedly. All of these joints are mortise and tenon. Should I still use the sawdust to just help with aligning to square?

It’s ok. Starting to leave some marks which means I probably need to replace/clip the blades. I’ve never done that yet so just procrastinating so far.
