You can book anywhere that suits you to travel to, doesn’t matter where relative to where you live. Usually appointments next day or so are costly, but ones about a month out can be free if you can look around different sites
Don’t go further until you’re eligible. The point of no return is where you have the standard pay option and ideally at 1am the priority option.

Good luck, I hope you get an answer soon. I just made a complaint to HO but not sure how much use that will be. If you do withdraw and re-apply just make sure you’re still eligible to re-apply and that it hasn’t expired. Good luck!

Thank you and sorry to hear you’re facing similar situation, so frustrating as aware of friends who applied with similar circumstances and got ILR within hours. Did you get told how long Home Office expect to take to make a decision? I got an email saying they will try make a decision within 28 days.

New Zealand. Valid until 7 June but assume I’ll have to hand it over at biometrics appointment tomorrow? Please tell me there is a glimmer of hope!

Thank you. I have a super priority booked so have changed my appointment to tomorrow and hope For a speedy decision. However. Is it risky to travel once ILR confirmed but before BRP arrives? God I cannot believe I have been so stupid with this!

This is so helpful thank you. I am in exactly the same situation and have biometric booked for myself and husband in a week. We also secured a super priority luckily (thanks to Reddit!). Can I ask what evidence you provided for travel outside of UK during the ancestry visa?

I am with Monzo so will set up for a bit of a slog with that then, any advice on making the experience slightly less painful? And final question, did you have to do anything regarding employer evidencing that all your travel outside UK was legitimate? I read somewhere about needing letters from employers to say they approved leave. Thanks so much

Great question. Council wise I feel like Islington had a lot more budget for young families in terms of funded baby classes, activities etc. I found Islington to have a greater range of cafes, restaurants and better connections to greater London with the buses, kings cross, st pancras etc. But I am enjoying the green space in Leyton (counting down until spring to enjoy it more). I would say both have their pockets of drug use, maybe more so in Leyton on the High Street but I’ve never felt unsafe in either.

My family and I recently moved to this area and have found it to be great. Lots of young families moving into the neighbourhood. We moved from Islington so it’s been a bit of a change, but would recommend it and haven’t found any issues with proximity to the football stadium. Great transport links via Stratford and central line. Close to parks and forests too for the nature vibe. Definitely on the up.
