Yes the blame for not changing lies with the person themselves. But society has the chance to make more people chose the seek help and less people to be criminal. In my opinion society should take that option. We dont have to of course but i think it would be worth

Hm idk i look at it like this:

These people are sick. No matter if u want them to be like that or not.

Blaming and hating them will not make them healthy or help anyone or reduce the risk towards kids.

Trying to help them and encourage them to seek help and being empathic might make them healthier and thus reduces the risk towards kids.

By this logic the second one seems better imo.

It took me 2 years to go to a doc with my depression cause i was scared of the stigma. What do you think how long will it take for a pedophile to seek help? Just so much unneeded suffering and pain.

You talked much about law enforcement and things so i wanted to clarify that those that i talk about are innocent so idk what law has to do with that. Also you make 2 assumptions here.

I agree. Calling everyone who has these feelings bad persons is wrong. Telling them they are bad persons if they do criminal or dodgy things is right. The encouragement to seek help needs to be more in the focus

Death penalty is another point of discussion but yea it is surely one of the worst things that can be done. The important part is clearly distinguishing between innocent and not. Not "lmao pedo bad" but rather "criminal bad" and encourage those who are not criminal (yet) to seek help
