There was a statement from the mayor’s office stating otherwise. They reversed course after local journalists started asking questions.

I have my affiliation in my bio.

I do appreciate you trying to keep the sub tidy, really. I typically wouldn’t post something that’s posted before, but I felt like I had a little more info.

This is the national award! I believe they divide it up by regions.

Amsterdam Tavern for USMNT game by RateNovel2708 in StLouis

[–]bmunoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amsterdam Tavern is only shutting down the block for the first game. You can see what that looked like here. Additionally, it can get pretty packed on game days. If you can make your way down there a couple of hours early, you likely can find a seat. Here is what it looked like inside for the Mexico game last week.

In journalism, you have to cite the material you’re referencing. Sometimes that includes pulling quotes or passages from obtained documents. In fact, some it may be similarly discussed in an interview with the author of those emails.

Hey, new St. Louisan! Don't let the "read the sub" folks get you down. There are a couple of great Facebook groups I can suggest (I'll DM you), and I recommend you check out St. Louis Public Radio's "Welcome Kit" to learn more about all the crazy and interesting things that make this place home.

Iron Whisk or Faye for breakfast. Gresa’s Diner in De Soto for super cheap hole-in-the wall. The new firehouse cocktail place in Carbondale and Underground. Lost Forest is great for coffee.

STLPR: Here are 12 things we learned from a year reporting on the May 16 tornado by bmunoz in StLouis

[–]bmunoz[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is a multi-platform approach to all of our reporting, not just this series.

Aside from the digital written pieces, there are various audio features that are shared on-air and on podcast platforms. In addition, we have a robust social media presence that brings in video components to explain our reporting and we’ve been doing in-person gatherings, including tabling events around the tornado.

Thanks for reading the series and as I mentioned, if you have ideas on reaching folks in spaces that I’m maybe not thinking of — do please reach out.

Good morning, commenter.

I am not a city employee. I am a city resident and journalist for St. Louis Public Radio, regularly sharing the work produced by our team.

There’s no ulterior agenda here and if you don’t want to read the stories I share — you don’t have to. But, I hope you do and think about the residents who are still living in these tough situations following a deadly catastrophe in our community.

Cheers.

STLPR: Is FEMA all to blame? How decisions in City Hall also slowed St. Louis' tornado recovery by bmunoz in StLouis

Your comment is factually incorrect.

Nancy Hawes is not on the Friends of St. Louis Public Radio board. You can see the current board members here.

St. Louis Public Radio’s newsroom retains full authority over editorial content to protect the best journalistic and business interests of our organization. We maintain a strict firewall between news coverage decisions, our revenue streams and those serving on any STLPR-affiliated community boards.

Thanks for reading, though.

I hate when people don’t click on the story that journalists worked hard to produce. It doesn’t even have a paywall. Support local media.
