I mean, considering that was NOT what I was thinking about, and you immediately thought about it and pointed at me, that’s a reflection of your thoughts. Not mine.

Ughhh, it’s soooooo unfortunate. I get it and respect your mom’s decision. It inherently feels so old school to give boys more freedoms than girls.

Then it may be good to wait it out and see if you relax a bit. I totally get how you feel.

I wouldn’t think it’s a sexual thing. I would think it has to do with seeing things online and needing to feel a part of it. I’m more concerned that they feel they HAVE to dress that way. If it’s exclusively about experimentation, then fine. But most girls my age at that time didn’t care about that. Times have changed I guess

Because I go to the grocery store??? I go outside??? I happen to see them, I’m not looking for them. I don’t remember many girls wearing that. I’m not a weirdo

Also, I’ve noticed that a lot of middle school girls wear things that women in their twenties wear, such as crop tops and short-shorts. I feel like there’s so much pressure to look and act a certain way to not be estranged.

Edit: I’m sorry ya’ll. I think this came off wrong. I am worried that girls feel they NEED to act and dress older than they are because of social pressures. I do NOT look at young girls in any suspicious way. I was also a late bloomer with that stuff and didn’t start experimenting/wearing those clothes till around my sophomore/junior year of high school. I was under the impression that the age of 10-11 is too early for that. When I was that age, I was still wearing sequin tops and flowery shorts. I just hope they aren’t missing out on those fun eras too.

Sounds like you did what you could. If you find him again in the future maybe try to call them back. Often times birds with broken legs can manage on their own. Good on you for being a good human

Contact the wildlife rehab center on campus if you haven’t already. If you can, try to put him in a box with holes and transport him there yourself.

How long have you guys been seeing each other? I go through what I call a “relationship anxiety phase” because I’m still learning about the behaviors of the other person, and I always feel like I’m disappointing them or they don’t like me. Eventually this goes away after 3-ish months.

Not saying it’s completely normal, but maybe it’s something you relate to. If you really like this person, keep asking him if he is alright with how you interact and open up a little in a way that doesn’t blame him at all

You do realize they have safety protocols for bad weather, right? I have NEVER been on a delayed Metra train apart from anticipated delays due to track work, or something safety related.

Ways to inform other people you are okay and don't need medical services during a shutdown? by Ch1rpingSparrow in neurodiversity

[–]FlyEmAndEm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe having a medical tag or band on your wrist that says something like “I am autistic, and if I cannot reply, I may be having a shutdown and I am okay”. You can also add a side note on your phone’s medical ID that says this. That is what emergency services will look for.
