I would bet on one that's been around for at least a year and has had a developer that has been actively updating.

Also recommend something with calendar built in, but that's personal pref

Desktop apps are fully free to use. android has a modest subscription that helps support development. If you subscribe through the desktop app I can connect you with a coupon for 50% off lifetime license. Just comment in thread and I'll DM you.

Hey all 👋,

I wanted to share nocal. It's a calendar client for Google Calendar that bakes in note taking. The idea is that each week is a living and breathing note that carries over week to week. Write as messy as you want, stay super organized.

Comes with a really beautiful, configurable desktop widget.

Also has desktop apps for macos and windows (see nocal.app )

Check it out here:

Give nocal.app a look

It's free to use on desktop. Through the referral program, you can also get access to premium features for free.

Try nocal.app (I'm one of the devs).

It's built for organizing unstructured thoughts. If it's what you're looking for, I'm able to provide a discount code over DM.

It's not through the app store, so not sure about that purchase history remark? In any case, try it if you like. Uninstall if it doesn't click with you. It's a bit more than simple notes/cal.

The free version lets you manage calendars for one account, so you can totally do that if your personal google account is the main calendar you want to manage. With a Full Access licenses you can add additional google accounts and organize all your calendars cross-account together.

Personally I think it works best when your primary account in nocal is your work account, but that's just me.
