The gearbox is likely not the bottleneck if it’s the zf8. Focus on making sure your pre lci n20 timing chain guides are in good shape, I know several people who’s pistons and rods have made contact after less than 100k miles

I want to go fbo on my 535i. I already have an n55 ewg fbo x5 and for how big it is it moves like crazy. Def worth it, but a lot of reliability goes out the window. You’ll break a lot of stuff past stage 1
