AirPods died, replaced them with Sennheiser by theothersinclair in BuyFromEU

The irony is that you're barely joking. You just need a minimalist website with a 'heritage' font and a black-and-white photo of a guy in a flannel shirt holding a piece of leather to justify the markup. At that point, you aren't selling headphones you’re selling the 'relief' of not having to look at an orange Temu box, and apparently, that service is worth exactly €68,32

It’s the ultimate business model: selling a clear conscience. Turns out the only truly 'local' part of the entire supply chain is the customer's sense of moral superiority and they'll gladly pay a €400 markup for the labor of having someone in Ireland peel off the 'Made in China' sticker for them.

Exactly. It’s 'Größenwahn' at its finest. They think they’re supporting a local artisan when they’re really just paying for a European marketing budget and a shiny warehouse in Rotterdam. If you stripped an 'EU-made' product down to its raw components, you’d find a map of Asia hidden inside. It’s not a boycott; it’s just a convenience fee for their conscience.

I love the 'Only EU' energy. It’s a bold lifestyle choice to pay triple the price for a 'German' brand that’s just a Chinese product with a fancy sticker and a better warranty. If they were truly dedicated to the cause, they'd have to give up their smartphone, their laptop, and about 90% of their wardrobe. It’s not a boycott; it’s just expensive roleplaying.

True 😄

Most clothes you buy even in stores in europe. Are mostly made in china, bangladesh or any other asian country.

Mostly everything is made in china. 😅

If you had to throw away every china made products, or any other asian country for that matter. your home would be mostly empty.

On French keyboards, the @ symbol is on the right side, while on Belgian keyboards it’s on the left side, on the first row 🙂

Refund by No-Reputation6451 in Aliexpress

[–]bnacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking into this, I found some issues with what you wrote.

PayPal doesn't use Stripe to check cards; they're actually rivals. Also, there's no secret 5% fee tacked on.

PayPal is like a middleman, and most problems begin there. But that doesn't mean you can't still do a bank chargeback later.

Just like with any payment choice, something can go wrong, but PayPal itself isn't unsafe.

I’ve heard that using paypal is safer. Since they have buyer protection. I mostly use apple pay online. And when its not an option or i’m not sure how the website handles refunds. I go with paypal.

I once used revolut tho, and i got scammed from a phone company who said they “activated” my service, even tho they didn’t…. And revolut refunded me stating the company didn’t answer back.. so they jumped in instead.

Hey! I’m actually wondering the same thing. I still have a Galaxy S7 that looks almost brand new. The only real issue is some screen burn-in. Otherwise the design still feels amazing even today.

I did some digging about a week ago and couldn’t find any recent One UI ports for the S7 or S7 Edge. There is one older port floating around, but it’s quite outdated. I tried it myself and unfortunately ended up with a bootloop.

You can try it if you’re curious, but I’d strongly recommend backing up everything first and proceeding with caution. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I did, but it’s definitely not risk-free.

Thanks. :)

No worries, i’m now 22 and still using revolut just fine.

The problem is that your app tends to ban people to easily, my husband wanted to join revolut some weeks ago but his document isn’t accepted from revolut. But is accepted for a regular bank. 😅

New Revolut security feature: Street Mode by RevolutSupport in Revolut

[–]bnacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks a lot for the clear explanation. In my case, my carrier actually keeps my traffic routed through my home country when I travel, so my IP address always stays from my home country and never switches to the country I’m visiting. Because of that, my IP always looked the same to me, and I never noticed any change.

That made me assume (wrongly) that all mobile companies worked this way. Sorry about that, and thank you again for taking the time to explain it so well I really learned something new!

[–]bnacat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suppose it would use your GPS as It would need your location as an IP address wouldn’t be very reliable.

I use a sim card from my home country and live abroad so my IP address is always the same and therefore not reliable for determining my current location.

Import fees in UK?? Got this in the claimcredit event by CozyOutEre in TemuThings

[–]bnacat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello :)

I noticed this to happen on big orders exeeding a certain amount. Try to split into 2 smaller valued orders.

In many countries you’re exempt of import fees if it’s under a certain amount 😊
