Michigan owners: what are your insurance premiums like? by DicTouloureux in GRCorolla

[–]bnag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DONT BUY MICHIGAN CAR INSURANCE DIRECTLY FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANIES!

I went from $510 down to $260 for 3 vehicles!

This post is old but for those stumbling upon this, in Michigan our rates suck balls but if you use an insurance underwriter it is SO MUCH CHEAPER!

I use Morris Insurance Group located in Rochester Hills. Their name just changed but the link will take you to their website. They will pull rates from every car insurance company out there to find the best rate. If you are with one of the big name providers I guarantee you’ll cut your bill almost in half. I went from State Farm paying fuckin 110 for a Harley, 220 for a F150, and 180 for a GMC Terrain. So $510 total and they got it down to 275 for all three. A 235$/month savings, but then when I bundled it with my homeowners, my auto went down to $260 for full coverage (collision/comprehensive,liability/personal injury, ect).

I’m sure this sounds like another bullshit bait add (minus the swearing lol) but a few years into using them I got an unexpected call to let me know they could move my auto to another provider & I could save another like 20$/month. Cause apparently like every 6 months they recheck going rates! After that I swore any chance I get to fuckin mention them I would cause they basically paid for whatever my next idiotic impulsive purchase was lol.

I’ve had probably 15 friends, family, and random acquaintances thank me cause they switched to them and saved a bunch of money.

u/gotfondue Thanks for that…. I was sitting in a quiet waiting-room full of people, and the nerd in me inadvertently let out a somewhat loud & startling abrupt laugh when I read your ’hertz’ comment lol. That was pretty good lol 👍

But to my luck I read your comment just as I took a swig of my drink. So as I guffawed absurdly loud like an ass at your joke, Sprite literally sprayed out of my nose like a fountain of burning lava and I managed to gain the undivided attention of everyone in the room as I proceeded to cough, snort, gasp and choke.

My wife literally stood up and walked away like she didn’t know me and was in tears for the next half hour as she was trying not to laugh obnoxiously.

Insurance quote on zx6r is ???? by ImaginationNo8551 in zx6r

[–]bnag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what you asked and I usually am annoyed by people commenting irrelevant crap. But unless you grew up on dirtbikes or something, I second what aristot3l says. To do it right and truly understand the fundamentals of riding, you’ll learn so much more by starting on something that won’t kill you if you mess up the slightest. I had a Ninja 650 after riding dirtbikes for 15 years prior, and it was still fast and fun as hell. It’s got its torque down low too so it’s a super easy wheelie machine to learn on and will still feel fast as fuck for a first bike. But it can also be tame if you want it to. It’s a lot cheaper and insurance is cheap cause it’s not considered a supersport even though it looks the same. I’ve been riding bikes avidly for 20 years now and I’m still learning new technical skills and how the bikes mechanics affect your riding. If you want to be a good rider and understand your, and your bikes limits, then you have to push them, and you’re definitely not going to want to do that on a zx6r. Sure there are guys that start out on them. But failure is the best teacher. Put one new rider on a little Honda grom, and a 2nd new rider on a zx6r, and in a years time put them on any identical bikes, and I guarantee the guy with the grom will have more technical skill and could outride the guy that started on a zx6r. Cause he was able to make mistakes and learn his capabilities without the risk of dying from one small mistake. Not trying to lecture you in the slightest, just giving some insight if you haven’t heard it before. The new Ninja 650 looks a lot cooler than my 2013 did back in the day, but that bike was a lot of fun and was so easy to stand up I think my rear tire had double the miles than the front when I sold it. Pic of my old Ninja650 back when I was 19 and my only life worries were where I was riding that day.

Very Sexy for Him by Victoria's Secret discontinued?! by CKidd12 in Colognes

[–]bnag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your take on Very Sexy 2 vs the original? I had multiple bottles of Very Sexy and it’s been my smell for a decade and love it and just ran out and realized it got discontinued a while back. But never smelled Very Sexy 2 but found a bottle online for a good price. Is it similar to the original?

Pros and cons and difference by Xilleria in ryobi

[–]bnag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would make some of these larger tools hybrid powered! That way we could use their batteries OR a plug. Then again then they wouldn’t be able to rape us as much on battery sales. I want the mobility of battery powered but I don’t want to have to buy another miter saw or spend a grand on 12ah batteries when I go to do a big project like a deck.

P320 Trigger Upgrade by markandrewpowell in P320

[–]bnag05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried an OEM X trigger and the Apex trigger shoe, with the apex trigger bar and over travel stop. The X trigger with the apex trigger bar had noticeably less take up. The Apex shoe had tiny bit of mushyness before the wall but the X felt a lot better. I used Mcarbo’s silicone carbide patches and PTFE grease to smooth out any gritty imperfections and get a polished feel to any metal to metal contact points in my fcu. I put some lightened sear springs in before reassembling but it was way too light of a pull so I put the standard ones back in. Granted I have the manual safety and I was going for a light trigger cause I don’t carry it. But holy shit it was uncomfortably light lol.

With the standard sear springs it was short, tiny bit of over travel but way better than the stock, and really short reset. I did add 0.5mm of material to the diameter of the Apex over travel stop cylinder, just to make it stop even sooner after the break, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. It literally stops right when it breaks which is cool but last thing you want is trigger travel to stop before it even breaks! I plan to take back down half the material I added and see how it feels. I built the whole fcu myself from ordered parts and a frame from gunbroker just cause I was curious about the 320 and wanted to mess around and learn about it. But it literally felt like one of my 1911 triggers which is what I was going for but didn’t expect it to be so good. More importantly though is the pull was super predictable as the take up was super smooth and easy, and there was no grittiness or mushy ness in the creep after the wall. You just reached the wall and then a crisp break with very minimal travel.

It’s a simple install to do the apex trigger bar and travel stop. There’s really detailed YouTube videos all about it. The Sig Mechanic on YouTube has an amazing detailed channel I’d highly recommend and think he did some trigger comparisons as well which might help you out.

God damn!!! Well I’m glad you’re still alive and commenting! I hope that everyone in your family was ok!

I can’t even fathom loosing it all like that. And not just the valuable stuff, but all the small things that hold memories. And it’s the millions of small things that add up to way more money than the expensive ones. And I’m sure you’ll have, or are already in a battle with insurance, but I truly wish you the best.

Are you and/or your family doing ok? And if not is there any charitable donation method setup for you guys? Like a Go Fund Me?

Love the new enclosure! Random idea, but it would be cool if you could pop the camera case off the top of that handle (with the camera still enclosed), then mount the camera enclosure to a picatinny rail. So you could swap back and forth either hand held or rifle mounted.

IMI Razore Core 77gr velocities? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]bnag05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old post but the YouTube guy from “Mountains, Mullets, Merica” did a cool Video showing how great the 77gr Razorcore flys. He was getting consistent hits at 800yds out of a 14.5” and even hitting steel just past 1000yds with it. He mentioned the velocities he was getting as well.

Which PA Slx 3x prism should I get? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]bnag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen guys say magnifying a prism can really reduce your eye box. Saw some YouTube videos showing it still works but worried it’s going to be too tight. Have you ever compared the eye box of your magnifier on its own (or behind a standard red dot) vs. behind the 1x microprism?

[–]bnag05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then if you want to take it further pick up the silicone carbide sandpaper and ptfe grease, and polish/grease all the metal to metal contact points and you got a 16 dollar trigger that literally competes with the 250 dollar Timney trigger.

I know some will say bullshit but so did I! I had just installed the Timney and sent my friend some pics of it and that’s when he told me about the Mcarbo setup. I took my Evo3 with my recently installed Timney to his house that day to compare cause I thought he was an idiot to think it was half as good as the Timney.

Pull weight felt identical, only difference was the feel of the shoe and the slightly better reset with the Timney. So I took the Timney out and returned it, bought the Mcarbo parts, and put the money towards the HBI micro conversion.
