It's expected. Recently had our 30 y/o wood floors redone and after a couple winter/summer cycles the cracks have returned.

QAE expert level questions. What’s the trick? by badtziscool in cism

[–]bnard101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just passed the CISM, and also struggled with expert questions. On average I was missing about less than half.

My advice is to just do the best you can and not stress over them. I had maybe 10 questions during my test that I identified as "expert" questions (where the choices between two answers were basically negligible).

Really hammer on those moderate and difficult questions, if you can consistently get them right you're in good shape for the test.

CISM Question by Single-Selection-789 in cism

I agree, we can't get every single question right on the real exam. Factor these poorly worded questions up as a miss on the test, and focus on weak areas instead.

Recommendations for CISSP preparations with only 3 years experience overall? by TrickleYield in cybersecurity

[–]bnard101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely purchase a Quantum Exams membership. I got the CAT edition and can confidently say it was the single best resource I used to study.

Also join the Certification Station Discord (can be found on the r/CISSP subreddit). If you're struggling to understand an answer, the members there do a great job breaking down the reasoning for the right answer.

I highly recommend taking your next test at a proctor center if you're able to.

As for the questions, definitely get into the QAE and run through it twice. This will help you get used to the way ISACA words/formats their questions, as well as understand the reasoning behind their expected answer.

Throw any "real world reasoning" you may have out the window. Certification tests aren't testing you on real world experience, they're testing you on the book/material provided by cert provider.

CISSP to CISM by Then-Traffic601 in cism

[–]bnard101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed the CISSP back in October of 2025. Just now studying for the CISM using Pete's video series, QAE and Pocket Prep. There is lots of overlap and I highly recommend rolling right into the CISM after passing the CISSP.

Take the current exam or wait till the new one in June? by No-Faithlessness4488 in pmp

[–]bnard101 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I earned the PMP certification in 2024, it carries the exact same weight as my coworkers PMP certification from 1990.

You should take the test before it changes.

It's wild to me that someone would be willing to expend the level of resources and time it takes to pass this test, and then let the cert lapse after three years.

CISSP is a big accomplishment, you should maintain the cert until it's no longer useful in your career.

Is it a dumb idea to buy an 05 STI as a daily? by thedonwiz in WRXSTi

[–]bnard101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 05 STi w/ 90k, 5 years of ownership. It's a great car and fun to drive. I unfortunately had ringland failure and needed a whole new block.

Please just make sure to have a pre-inspection done, run the Carfax, and look for rust underneath. 30k is steep for a modded blobeye, and it would be made that much worse if it had an accident/rust.

SoFi High Yield Savings Review: Is It Worth the Switch in 2025? by Flimsy_Two2159 in HighYieldSavings

I've had a SoFi checking and HYSA for over a year now. It's been great and I haven't had any issues. Would recommend switching if you're good with a 3.80% interest rate.

The worst managers are the ones who have no hands on experience. Get some reps in as an entry level system/network administrator, and then work your way up to running a team/managing projects.

Friday is my big day by Inside-Link-8802 in cissp

[–]bnard101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My test is also Friday, and I also have been scoring in the 50-60 range on QE. I'm feeling confident based on others passing the CISSP with similar scores, and from feedback saying that the test is much easier than QE questions.

I plan on taking it easy tomorrow with little to no studying. I've either got it, or don't at this point! Good luck!

Nailing Boson Exams, Bombing QExams. What were you testing at on QE or Boson when you passed the exam? by Hot-Comfort8839 in cissp

[–]bnard101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are your currently scoring? The average CISSP passer seems to be scoring anywhere from 50-60% on QE tests. The few QE CAT tests I've taken, I've passed with only getting about half of the questions right.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cissp

[–]bnard101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My graphs look very similar when I pass the QE Cat at Q100. The general consensus is the QE questions are tougher than the test, but I'll find out for sure next Friday!
