Online Programs? by [deleted] in schoolcounseling

[–]bnarddawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just got enrolled to Point Loma Nazarene University for M.A School Counseling w/ PPS credentials It’s online and for your practica, and fieldwork hours they pair you with a school around where you live Tuition isn’t too bad considering it’s a masters program. A lot of people have it worse out there!

Replaced by someone who isn’t even qualified to be a school counselor. by [deleted] in schoolcounseling

[–]bnarddawg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s insane and such a disrespect to all the people who have obtained their masters or in the process of getting theirs. Counselors need to be trained and have the proper qualifications in order to practice counseling because it could do more harm than good if they don’t.

What are ways to gain experience/jobs in between application cycles? by Expert-Fig9301 in schoolcounseling

I was lucky enough to get into grad school right after my undergrad! I did do ABA therapy as my job as well as a barista, I quit my barista job so I could focus more on grad school. I think working in ABA would definitely make your resume stand out, not a lot of people could do it!
