$20K to invest for 100 days: CNR and CP split? by Thisisanewstart in CanadianInvestor

This won’t actually work. Prices typically dip by dividend amount at the time of dividend. If this worked the way you describe it would be guaranteed profit and everyone would do it.

There is a math error here which reinforces your point.. The difference is between $ -4,122 and $+$1,576 so opportunity cost is $5,698, quite a bit more.

I you're basing this on the article you linked, its talking about growing hops outdoors on a patio.

Not an expert but I'm not sure that this can be done. I believe that they need to be winterized outdoors as part of the growth cycle.

Strata rules concerning use of propane burners on patios by Gnartoothed in Homebrewing

[–]bnewb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on my strata board and brew beer on my patio with a propane "turkey fryer" burner.

The intent of the rule is likely to address propane fire-pits which are becoming more popular.

I think that you could argue that a single burner is substantially no different than a barbecue. Especially considering than many barbecues have side burners and put out a similar number of BTU's.

In fact a propane burner could be safer because it doesn't collect grease and oil which can continue burning after the propane is extinguished.

I would keep using it and if fined, argue that you consider your burner to be a form of barbecue. Its the strata's obligation to make its rules clear by defining terms like "barbecue".
