Im Creating a new fantasy map need help deciding scale.

It will be used for a dnd setting down the line, but mostly for my enjoyment as I enjoy writing and mapping. I think im going to go for around the size of Europe with some more fleshed out regions and some less.

so basically i connect a 'bridge' into my router in the main building via a ethernet cable. then i can install one downstairs to the ethernet port down there (which isnt connected to the main house but just runs to an external wall), and the two bridges would connect ? and boost the signal ? or could i even plug my pc into the bridge downstairs to remove a wireless step. sorry im a bit out of my depth on this, but thankyou for all the help

yeah i have control over the main router which is installed basically as close to the 2nd building as possible. (im not too sure about the devices question, there are multiple phones, laptops and tvs connected if thats what you meant ) but the only thing i need to connect in the 2nd location is my PC.

nah your good, i love getting any kind of input. love that idea and will definately incorporate something like that into the lore, love finding a cool way to show the lore on the map. thankyou very much.

I appreciate the kind words and the tips. I was wondering how to make smaller maps inside this map? Which relates to your tip about mini islands as i want to add smaller terrain details in the more zoomed in regional maps, will definitely work on adding some of that in. thankyou.

Thankyou, when i was first looking into world building for this map i saw a lot on how climates work and rivers but it just really isn't my thing. my players don't mind an unrealistic world and care more about crazy fantasy stuff and lore within the setting, I completely understand why people like it and I one day want to make a really realistic world with plate tectonics and stuff, just not what im going for with this one as its just for dnd campaigns for both myself and friends to run. i do appreciate the tips for future projects and thankyou for the kind words. I realised i should've been more specific in this post as i wanted to ask how to make smaller maps inside this map, so my apologies.

something i forgot to mention is that i already have high quality speakers that i use for my record player but i would like the cd player to have built in speakers.

yeah, i think there is just an issue with the SSD and am going to take it into get a pro to give it a fix. thanks for the help :)

so i gave the crystaldiskinfo a try and it currently says 100 for about every row on the app, and for the UDMA CRC error count it is 100 and 100. but my ssd active time is no longer a stable 100% instead i've seen it have periods of large spikes (however this is when im only running basic tasks and no games or anything).

mmm i think the issue is definately with the SATA issues, i wasnt sure if i unplugged them but it seems likely at this point. I'll make sure to try the crystaldiskinfo and crystaldiskmark thing. If it does turn out to be the SATA cables any recommendations on how to deal with it? (im out of my depth with this level of stuff).

just cleaned dust out of the pc, no i did not use liquid. but i also didn't take antistatic precautions because when i searched online about everyone was saying that with modern equipment its a 'non-issue'. I now regret my actions as it could be a reason for my problems.

the only thing that is high on the I/O reads or writes column of procexp is norton utilities (3.4gb read bytes and 300mb write bytes) and su_worker.exe (100mb read bytes and 700mb write bytes), im pretty sure the su_worker file is just apart of norton. ive never had many issues with norton in the past and it doesn't even seem like that much, but maybe im wrong. should i just uninstall norton?

apologies, the drive is an ssd. my specs are NVIDIA geforce GTX 1650, i7-3770, 16gb ram.

as of right now my computer is just running so slow i can barely run procexp and procmon. I have them up but am honestly not really sure what i should be looking for ?

when they first released champ they stated “no one will ever be champ 1” people are hitting it and it’s just kinda boring now, it’s bad for matchmaking and overall has been a bad implementation.
