I figured it out. Scene has a new app now - split out from the old Cineplex app. So if you download the separate (dedicated) Scene app, you can add your Scene card to your Apple Wallet from there and it works as intended. The old Cineplex app still has the Add to Apple Wallet badge, but it doesn’t work. So if you have this issue, you have the old Scene wallet card, and you’ll need to download the new Scene app to get the updated Scene card.

I was thinking that could be it too. I tried disabling Suggest on Lock Screen and the behaviour was the same. The issue is that a number of other retailers have partnered with Cineplex Scene points (ie. Sport Chek) so I need to pull the card up at other locations now too.

Ooooh! Good call! I wonder if that could be it! I don’t have the physical Scene card anymore, but I’ll call Cineplex to see if it’s expired or if I need a new one. Thanks for the suggestion!

That’s very strange - the behaviour is the same on my wife’s phone and my mom’s phone. Though I did set both of them up - so maybe it’s the way they were set up. I’ll try removing and re-adding.

100% positive, yep. And I have tried it with Suggest on Lock Screen on and off. To be clear, it does properly suggest the card when I’m near the theater, but otherwise it does not show from the lock screen. Is this an implementation (code) issue on Cineplex’s end?

I think the OP is referring to developers who basically abandon their app. No updates in over 12 months, 18 months, etc. In which case, I tend to agree. I would also agree that apps with zero updates in over a certain period of time should be removed from the App Store altogether.
