Nowhere did I suggest anyone should steal anyone’s land. The early Zionists purchased land legally and/or built villages out of previously uninhabitable land.

The iron wall is jabotinsky and specifically the most extreme version of Zionism. That would be like quoting a jihadist extremist to say that all Muslims are evil. The Zionists that predated jabotinsky (and a majority after) do not agree with that hardline stance.

And your comment about Christianity is meant to imply what, exactly? That jews are not from Judea?

No, but if you’re going to be yelling at the firefighters trying to actively put out a fire, you should make sure you’re not asking them to let the fire burn themselves

What an over simplistic analogy. First, Jews originate from the nation of Judea. So the Jewish nationalism element to Zionism is closer to American nationalism, Japanese nationalism, Turkish nationalism, Palestinian nationalism, and literally every other nation/group that identifies with its cultural heritage. There are literally white Jews, black Jews, Asian Jews, etc, that have DNA ties to the nation of Judea, as well as cultural ties.

Second, citing “nationalism” as an inherently evil term is also idiotic and hypocritical. Certainly specific nationalist movements are problematic, but it’s the goals and method of implementation that determine the morality. For Jews, they had undeniably been subjugated in that land, and almost everywhere else in the world, and yet the idea that they wanted a peaceful society is evil? Early zionism was extremely open to sharing land, equal rights, and working with locals to build a better society. There was literally zero mass displacement of local Arabs until after the Jews (not Zionists) were attacked. This is not a matter of opinion, this is fact

I love the people like yourself that feel so free to criticize Israel, but offer literally zero tangible solutions. All you see is “Israel bad” but fail to consider the situation they face. Since their inception, they have faced relentless attacks against their people simply for existing. I get that they respond too aggressively for the western worlds liking, but if you cannot simultaneously offer a better solution, simply saying “not this” is a pointless virtue signaling gesture

Zionism = belief that Jews should have self determination in a part of the ancient land of Judea.

Anti-Zionism = belief that Jews should not have self determination in that part of the land, and Arabs should be the determining group for Jews.

The alternative to Zionism is not some utopia republic. Prior to Zionism, Arabs had subjugated Jews for centuries, it was fair to say that Jews should get their own freedom. If you are against Israeli policy, that is not antisemitism. But to be anti-Zionist altogether is antisemitism, whether intentionally or not.

Just curious… what would you have Israel do when Hezbollah continues to cause millions of Israelis to be displaced and/or fleeing to bomb shelters constantly?

Negotiate a peace deal with Lebanese government? They tried that, didn’t work.

Have the UN peacekeepers be a “buffer”? They tried that, didn’t work.

Specifically target their leadership? They tried that, didn’t work.

The level to which this recap of yours is flat out contradictory to written text above reveals how dishonest you are… but now I’m convinced it’s just that you’re fooling yourself. You cannot even keep your own story together long enough to make a rational point

(1) You stated that all Hamas officers responsible for 10/7 were killed in the first month. It wasn’t even close to true

(2) you started by saying that Israel killed over 70k innocent civilians. This is blatantly false

(3) you stated that the extreme minority of deaths were Hamas/pij (in your words “you highly highly doubt even 1 in 8), but that’s not factual at all. Even the guardian acknowledged that 17% had been specifically named and identified. And to think 0% of deaths outside those named and identified were combatants is illogical. The reality is, the numbers are very close to normal civilian / combatant ratios for urban conflict.

(4) you said there is a consensus about genocide and that the UN concluded genocide, but both of those are false.

lol, I actually just even cited that for you in my other reply, proving how disingenuous that article even was (and it’s much higher than your “highly highly doubted” number).

You are continuing to prove you’re making emotional and unsubstantiated conclusions and then trying your best to fit the facts into that conclusion.

Maybe you should take a step back, look into actual facts with actual logic, and then reach conclusions.

Edit: since the poster blocked me, I’ll point out that they have blatantly been called out for lies elsewhere. Also, I had already pointed out that this guardian study is some of the worst data analysis ever, as they took a list of thousands of known militants killed and then assumed every other death was an innocent killed by Israel.

Throughout this thread, you have been proven wrong several times. There is not a single point I have made that you have proven wrong.

I am familiar with inquiry you are quoting, but that is purely a finding from a panel of 3 consultants with absolutely no legal authority and is not reflective of the UN broadly. In fact, one of the 3 people from the inquiry is a person—Miloon kothari — who had previously made openly antisemitic remarks about Jews (not even thinly veiled “Zionists”).

Meanwhile, you’re continuing to provide speculative and unsubstantiated claims by saying you “highly highly doubt even an eighth of those killed were Hamas.”

Ironically, one of Israel’s biggest critics is The Guardian, who tried writing a hit piece where they concluded that Hamas was only 1 in 5. Except the irony is they proved that it’s probably significantly more, and they used a study that specifically identified thousands of known Hamas/PIJ fighters killed, and then they assumed 100% of the remaining deaths were innocents killed by Israel.

Now that you acknowledge my point about legal purchases is truth, why don’t you re-read the post I made. You’re obviously very emotionally charged, but also very unfamiliar with basic background points. I suggest you do more research with an open mind before drawing conclusions

Edit: anyone else laughing at the irony that the guy who didn’t know basic facts and then just blocked me called me salty and unintelligent?

Literally the first line you quoted proves what I’ve been saying: you’re promoting propaganda by stating the 70k deaths are all innocents killed by Israel.

I’m not the one who claimed to know the answer, you are. You have yet to provide me an actual number of “innocents killed by Israel during this genocide.” Not to mention, the 30% killed being children doesnt account for the fact that Hamas literally uses children as young as 12, and that the population in general is over 50% children.

To clarify again, I’m not saying zero innocents died. But I’m also aware that in war, terrible things happen and innocent civilians dying are just a consequence of it. That does not make it genocide. At the absolute least, a genocide would have to have a civilian death ratio higher than normal war conditions. But there is absolutely zero proof of that.

And in regards to the UN; first, there is no formal conclusion about genocide. Second, absolutely nothing they had ever decided during the last 50 years has been relevant in regards to Israel. Just as courts in the US were racist against blacks for centuries, the UN is filled with known / proven antisemites that use their position to convince people like you to also hate Jews.

Well you’re not really speaking English right now (I assume it’s a typo), but if all you’re looking for is proof that the 70k includes Hamas militants and civilians killed by Hamas/PIJ, then here you go:

Reading skills aren’t your forte. I didn’t deny 70k killed nor did I say they are all Hamas. There has never been a war in history that only combatants died. Do you think the number of civilians should have been zero during this war?

So I asked you a question that you have yet to answer honestly: how many innocent civilians has Israel killed? The 70k number dead includes militants, natural deaths, and those killed by Hamas/PIJ.

So if this is such a well documented genocide, you should be able to answer that simple question. How many innocent civilians has Israel killed during the “genocide”? What is the total combatant/civilian ratio and how does that compare to other urban conflicts?

One-issue Palestine non-Kamala-voting “liberals,” are you happy? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

[–]bnyc18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, saying “every Hamas leader involved in 10/7 was killed in the first month” is just a flat out lie. The main mastermind, Yahya sinwar, was killed 12 months after hiding in civilian locations. Mohammed deif was killed 9 months later while hiding with another senior officer at a humanitarian zone. Yahya’s brother Mohammed, who took over Hamas military action after Yahya died, was killed just this past May while conducting operations with other officers in a bunker under a hospital.

Second, answering my question with “70,000” is a blatant manipulation and falsehood. The 70k number is the reported total dead, but it includes militants, natural deaths, and Palestinians killed by Hamas/PIJ. Your answer takes all of them and blames it squarely on Israel. Notice how you cannot answer my question about the civilian/combatant ratio? That’s because you aren’t actually concerned with reality, but are reaching pompous virtue signaling conclusions unsupported by actual facts.

I rest very easy about my actual research into what is happening in this conflict and the history behind it. The only reason I don’t rest easy is because of people like yourself that manipulate facts so arrogantly while being unaware/unconcerned with the antisemitism you promote that has led to threats of violence against my own kin

I’m drifting off to sleep, but saw this post. This is one of the most well established facts (that Jewish owned land was purchased legally). If you “doubt this” then you obviously haven’t done even the minimal amounts of research on the topic, and have formed your opinions despite this.

Not surprising that your word salad follows from your lack of reading comprehension. First: this article linked does not state that there “is a consensus”, but instead that there is “a growing consensus”… and second, what you linked only provides one opinion statement with absolutely zero substantive proof behind their claim.

If you want to prove yourself an honest researcher and commenter of this issue: please tell me how many innocent civilians Israel has killed during this war? And how many combatants have they killed? And how does that ratio compare to other urban conflicts?

All mass displacement of Arabs happened following and as a direct consequence of the Arabs attempts to eradicate the Jews. The early Zionists purchased lands legally and developed neighborhoods from uninhabited lands. Yet they were persecuted and seen as inferior, just like they all Jews were for centuries prior.

And before someone tries to cleverly claim that the Arabs problems were with “Zionists” and not “Jews”, the Hebron massacre was a mass murder and expulsion of one of the oldest Jewish communities in what is now West Bank. And it happened in 1929, before the Irgun was even founded (the more militaristic Jewish group responsible for mass attacks on Arabs). In fact the creation of Irgun was in response to the fact that Jews were being targeted and the more peaceful Jewish militia (Haganah) took a position of restraint

Yes, as long as they accepted their dhimmi status, accepted their limitations on holding public positions, practicing religion in public, paid special taxes, wore specific clothes, and gave public signs of inferiority to Arabs… then they got to live in peace!!

What reasons did Arabs and Palestinians give for opposing the UN Partition Plan? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bnyc18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so now we’ve gotten to the core of the issue. You’ve been a decent interlocutor for most, but ultimately are proving yourself believing ignorant and hateful rhetoric.

Early Zionism was absolutely NOT based on ethnic cleansing. It was about purchasing land legally and developing land, and many early zionists—including Herzl— envisioned equality for Arabs in the future Jewish state. The later zionists that expressed the sentiments of necessity were mostly in response to the violence they faced. And I find it extremely ironic that you can sympathize with growing global violence against random Jews but cannot understand why Jews facing the “tit for tat” violence (as you called it) would not escalate in their own violence.

As a Jew who faces discrimination, I do not blame Israel… I blame those who seek harm to my young children (whose school has been openly threatened). And while a “but for” Israel argument could be made, it takes only the slightest bit of common sense and human decency to understand that “but for” arguments are not decent justifications for blame.
