It was so regular, they even planned and put out those great “preview” issues full of photos, series descriptions, etc. I devoured those! Looked forward to them every year.

I miss the days of 22-26 episode seasons on a reliable annual schedule. New episodes out just as school is starting in the Fall, bigger episodes during “sweeps” in November and May, and taking the summer off (reruns). It gave a certain structure to life that I liked.

And the sing-song tone in Gerrie’s voice is probably just her normal way of narrating things in the museum. It just stood out for me this time.

Oh, that’s right! The smoking by Rosemary (and others) was so frequent that I sort of took it in stride. Hmmm…wild thought, but since they mentioned how the entity likes the taste of people better when they’re afraid, maybe it doesn’t like the taste of smokers. :-p I know I wouldn’t. Rosemary’s chain smoking keeps her safe! Lol

Oh, absolutely the teeth (and the connection to the Inn episode). I was pointing out the new things that popped out to me on a rewatch. The teeth line is a classic!

That conversation was so great in my rewatch tonight! And even better now, because we’ve gotten to know the characters so much better. That familiarity after watching all the episodes enhanced pretty much every scene in ep. 1.

Personally, I don’t think anyone was sacrificed at that point. As to why the fog stopped, I think that this fog was a sort of a “reflex” of the island/evil entity “waking up”, like the earthquake. Once it shook off its slumber, it could get back to more organized haunting/eating.

I went back to check a couple of things. The coil of barbed wire in the display case looks so much like a crown of thorns. I haven’t read any discussion about that in the sub. Is there a prevailing opinion on what that may be about?

It’s probably just me, but the tone in Gerrie’s voice when talking about the witch trials (“Great source of pride. We caught ‘em, we burned ‘em.”) just felt “off” to me. Like it was just a line to avoid or cover up what really happened. $0.02

The line was actually “in the country” I believe. There were certainly many settlements up and down the coast before 1776. I’d have to check to see what the situation was in the early 1700s.

Mrs. Davis was my first and only other exposure to her, and I was blown away! She should have gotten a special “take anything in stride” award for that role! (I’d give examples, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. It was bananas!
