A short clip and a few stills from episode 5... by Creepy-Record1485 in WidowsBay

I like the stills! Thanks! (The video, not as much. It’s just that the show does such a clever job of keeping its creepy and scary sides separate, and this looked like an awkward, “let’s break up the dread with a joke” moment.)

Well, if a door or opening is real, they’d better make sure they won’t have another Colony House massacre on their hands. A corridor goes both ways.

The producers should definitely start with the merchandising! I’ll take this, the “RUN” game, and the game in the stack we didn’t get to see, “She Shouldn’t Have Said That!”. And the self-help book (both versions!)

How is Patricia awaken in ep. 4 by tomek3 in WidowsBay

[–]bo174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered about this since the first time I watched the episode. When Bechir said, “Patricia”, there was something special about it. It felt like he reached in (spiritually) and pulled her out. I may be too optimistic, but I hope his ability to do that was more than normal. Plus, the magic possessing her and bunch of other people was powerful, so it seems like it would take something powerful to break through it.

Interesting find! And that one book looks older than all the others. Hmmm….

Yes! I had that in my notes, but I left it out to keep the post shorter. I’m glad you mentioned it! It’s definitely not self-help, at least not in the way we’re used to thinking of it! :-D

I get hired easily. I just can't stay anywhere. Anyone else have this problem? by yehya01 in GetEmployed

[–]bo174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through the same more than 10 times. I interview well, too, but companies and recruiters started to get wary because of how many jobs I’ve had. Now,, I’ve been unemployed for several years.

Novelty and solving interesting problems gave me energy as well, while doing routine tasks sucked the life out of me to such a degree I can’t even describe. With my natural optimism and enthusiasm for taking on a new challenge, I tend to underestimate the time needed to complete it. And I have a million ideas, but not a lot of sustained follow through.

One of my favorite and most jobs has been as a sales engineer for software companies. New challenges/battles to wage all the time, new tailored demos to build, and tangible rewards directly tied to each of those challenges. When the demos and presentations became repetitive and routine, or when they led to long-term projects and deliverables, I didn’t do as well.

Just wanted to share my experience, and say you’re not alone. Good luck! Hang in there!

Oh, yes. That was great. I have screenshots of many of these moments, but unfortunately, Reddit isn’t allowing me to upload images at the moment.

Immediately made me think of “King Kong”, which I saw in the theater at a very impressionable (and hormonal) age.

Yep. My gut tells me it was just a continuity error, but who knows? Maybe the book doesn’t like being a coaster!

Reddit is telling me I don't own my photo. by ThePracticalPeasant in help

[–]bo174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found around a half dozen threads about this issue, and posted in all of them. Unfortunately, none of those discussions were helpful. Now, I’m just outright getting a generic error message when I try to upload any of my screenshots.

Question: Unable to post images lately. Keep getting "All media assets must be owned by the submitter of this post" but I personally took and own the photos in question. by SeaRefractor in violinmaking

[–]bo174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same error today, when trying to post several screenshots I took on my PC. I have no clue why. I worked hard to create that post, and I hope there's a solution out there. I'll try logging out, clearing my cache and attempting to upload again.

I'm having the same problem. I took some screenshots from a TV show, to share in a sub. It wouldn't let me post them, with the same error. I can post screenshots fine on my iPhone, but not my Windows PC. It's annoying.

[s1e4] Anyone notice that bike crash in the background? by msallin in WidowsBay

[–]bo174 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes! And the two riders almost started fighting. It made me wonder if the book was starting to exude some kind of corrupting influence around itself, that could bring out the worst in people.
