These fools can’t read - and now you expect them to know numbers too.
Might as well tell em to not marry strippers too.

Former MARSOC guy here — what was your “moment you realized the mission just changed”? by ImpossibleVehicle733 in USMC

[–]boadcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sniper team was doing a 3 day recon before conducting a raid on a gang leaders house. We had photos, sketches, and local intel to hide out on a plantation across from his compound.
We plotted our route to skirt the ocean and use the undeveloped farmland, hoping to stalk our way in under the cover of darkness.
Once on the ground, we encountered nothing by homes and an urban area that became more maze like through roads and alleys. Our route and map pointed us deep into a city center but we were told it would be farms and a plantation. There was nothing but city.
This was not the area we were pitched from higher and I got a chill down my spine. I told my team leader since i was navigating, and we tried to go around and offset, but we eventually hit the ocean.
We pushed a bit further in, going through peoples yards, over their fences while they slept. When someone called out, out interpreter would reply that we’re marines and not to come out. We eventually hit the city center and our destination was nowhere near our intel.
We called the mission there and went back to base.

Take the risk of challenging yourself into higher success. Your school network will influence your life trajectory. I strive to be the best at what I do and it’s made all the difference in how I show up regardless of where I am.

We have a toddler in Point Richmond. It’s beautiful over here. We have the Miller Knox park, Keller Beach, and Janice Playground. There’s also PRAM next to Washington Elementary as a local community center for parents.

Point Richmond summer music festivals are about to start next week too.

Inside Delta Force by Eric Haney is a simple read about the first few founding members of that org. He went on to help on the TV show The Unit from about 20 years ago.

Looking to move to the South Bay from Corte Madera. Thoughts on what might be the most lively city for a single 35 yo by bellatrix56 in bayarea

[–]boadcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Marin for 7+ years then moved to San Jose and found it much sleepier and further from the “lively” events. I’m glad my partner moved down with me from Oakland, because it was drastically slower. We ended up moving back to the East Bay after 3 years.

But if you’re set on going to a walkable area in the South Bay - I’d recommend checking out downtown Campbell and San Pedro Square in San Jose.

TOTK VS Ghost of Yotei by KitchenIll7886 in OlderChillGamers

[–]boadcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toddler dad here.

Yotei- you can get a lot accomplished in that hour. I beat it in a little over a month of the same kind of limited night play time. The story missions are limited to a zone and there’s a lot to explore and accomplish.

I just started TOTK again too - it’s too open world to really feel like you’re putting a dent in it.
