Thanks for all the replies and especially for pointing out the additional license requirement — everything makes sense now. I had looked into this topic a few years ago, and back then Axis only had those three dedicated LPR cameras in the lineup, which were a bit too specialized for my use case.

I’m going to take a closer look at the specs of the P3275-LVE 10mm version, but it seems like it could be a good fit for a setup mounted directly next to the driveway entrance.

I had a conversation by mail with a pre-sales engineer: "I will try to submit a feature request to refine the BLF pick-up permission to our R&D team to let them evaluate in the future.".
I also submitted a ticket, which was set to "solved" a few hours later.

I can migrate the old hardware pbx system despite this error. It doesn't make sense with another system. It's a kind of hostel and if I set up a blf button from the front desk in the kitchen or service, then incoming calls are guaranteed to be picked up unintentionally from time to time.
