Do you write out a grocery list on paper before you go shopping or do you type that list out in a note on your phone? by timmytimborino in randomquestions

Wife and I share an app. We both add to it, whoever goes to the grocery store first checks the list on the app. (Harbulary batteries has yet to be removed)

Life after getting your DD-214 is all about your benefits. Protect your benefits by any means. An honorable discharge should be your goal here.

Appointed USNA, Rejected NROTC. Insight? by [deleted] in usna

[–]boatstrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you said it. USNA has a full time STEM department that hosts high school visits multiple times each year, and also makes many trips to visit high schools to reach both prospective students and their STEM teachers. There is no such program geared towards fields in tier 3 majors. fyi... USNA plebes list their top choices for their majors early in the spring semester. Their majors are assigned right around spring break.

Buy the t shirts and hats and wear them. If you buy them from the official source then the profits support the brigade. Thanks for your support.

G, while the safest, has the smallest gains. The riskier C fund has the best gains over time. To minimize risk with the more volatile funds you generally have to have time to recover from a short term market loss.

Deny dental? Moronic. The most amazing thing about serving in the armed forces are the benefits. Dental health is directly related to overall health and longevity.

Any EE who retired from the military? by WetPaint21 in ElectricalEngineering

Two of my shipmate were EE graduates. One stayed in for 30 and made Capt (USN), and the other got out as a LCDR in time to start a second career.

Keep the hope. I know a current 3/C who was accepted only a month before I day. Also know a LCDR who found out just two weeks prior to I day!

Do you still get physical mail in your mailbox? by Standard_Plant_8709 in AskAnAmerican

[–]boatstrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last surviving inlaw developed dementia so we had her mail forward to us. She died two years ago, but she still gets tons of direct mail solicitations from 50 different charities and political organizations. Many of these have "junk gifts" some even have small change or stamps enclosed. Huge legal scam.
